THE OHNWARD FINE ARTS CENTER (THE NEW 840 SEAT AUDITORIUM ON EAST PLATT STREET) WAS PRESENTED A CHECK THIS WEEK FOR $25,992.
THE MONEY REPRESENTS THE PROFITS FROM THE PRODUCTION OF
"ANNIE" THIS WINTER. RIGHT FROM THE START, IT WAS THE UNDERSTANDING THAT PROCEEDS FROM "ANNIE" WOULD BE TURNED OVER TO THE CENTER. OHNWARD EXECUTIVE BOARD PRESIDENT, JOE LECHTENBERG, JUNIOR, SAID HE AND FELLOW BOARD MEMBERS ARE VERY GRATEFUL TO THOSE INVOLVED WITH THE PRODUCTION AND FOR THE MONEY AND THAT THE BOARD WILL BE MEETING SOON TO TALK ABOUT HOW TO USE THE MONEY.

JIM HOLST OF BETTENDORF, OWNER OF THE PRAIRIE CREEK GOLF COURSE AT THE SOUTH EDGE OF MAQUOKETA, HAS PURCHASED ANOTHER PUBLIC GOLF COURSE IN JACKSON COUNTY. HE HAS PURCHASED CONTROLLING INTEREST IN THE PLUM RIVER GOLF COURSE AT PRESTON. HE ALSO OWNS COURSES IN EDGEWOOD AND BETTENDORF. HE IS IN THE PROCESS OF ADDING HOLES IN MAQUOKETA AND PRAIRIE CREEK EVENTUALLY WILL BE AN 18-HOLE COURSE.

MARISSA CURRENT OF MAQUOKETA IS THE NEW GENERAL MANAGER OF
THE COMFORT INN MOTEL AT THE SOUTH EDGE OF MAQUOKETA. SHE FORMERLY WORKED AT THE MAQUOKETA STATE BANK.

TWO MORE EMAILS TO ME WITH A PLEDGE FOR THE SUNSHINE RADIOTHON ON KMAQ SATURDAY NIGHT. THANKS TO THOSE MAKING THE PLEDGE. THE RADIOTHON, ALSO ON THE L OCAL ACCESS CHANNEL,
WILL BE BROADCAST FROM 5 UNTIL 9 P.M. TOMORROW, SATURDAY.

KMAQ -FM WILL AGAIN BE BROADCASTING ALL OF THE ST. LOUIS CARDINALS GAMES THIS SPRING AND SUMMER. THE 2006 CARDINAL POCKET SCHEDULES ARRIVED YESTERDAY. LET ME KNOW IF YOU NEED ONE.
