HIGH OF 22 TODAY.

THE JACKSON COUNTY UNEMPLOYMENT RATE INCREASED TO 5.6 PERCENT IN NOVEMBER, UP FROM
4.6 PERCENT IN OCTOBER.

CITY COUNCILMAN JOHN CRESSEY ATTENDED HIS FINAL MEETING LAST NIGHT. HAS SERVED FOR 8 YEARS. HE DID NOT SEEK RE-ELECTION. HIS REPLACEMENT JANUARY 1ST. WILL BE JASON HUTE.

LITTLE SHEPHERD CHRISTIAN PRE-SCHOOL, LOCATED AT THE FIRST LUTHERAN CHURCH, HAS A NEW INTERUM DIRECTOR, AMY FISHWILD, REPLACING CINDY HECK WHO RESIGNED TO TAKE A NEW JOB IN JANUARY, AS REPORTED A COUPLE DAYS AGO ON THIS REPORT. AMY, A MEMBER OF FIRST LUTHERAN, HAS BEEN ACTIVE IN CHILDREN'S MINISTRY AT THE CHURCH.

A LONGTIME, RETIRED MAQUOKETA BARBER, RICHARD A. MILLER, AGE 81, DIED LAST NIGHT. HIS FULL OBITURARY CAN BE READ AT www.carsonandson.com

THE MAQUOKETA GIRLS HOST WEST DELAWARE TONIGHT IN BASKETBALL WHILE THE BOYS TEAMS ARE AT MANCHESTER TO TAKE ON THE HAWKS.

MANY YEARS AGO, I HAD 3 WISDOM TEETH PULLED, AND HAD KIND OF A ROUGH TIME WITH THE PROCEDURE. AND ALSO FOR NEARLY THAT MANY YEARS, DR. LEO BIEHL (NOW RETIRED) HAD URGED ME TO HAVE THE 4TH ONE ALSO TAKEN OUT. BUT I PUT IT OFF, AND OFF AND OFF. A COUPLE WEEKS AGO, IT STARTED GIVING ME SOME PROBLEMS AND I FINIALLY DECIDED THE TIME HAS COME. SO YESTERDAY, DR. BUDDY ATIENZA PULLED IT. AND, TO MY SATISFACTION....NO PROBLEMS WHATSOEVER. NONE. BUDDY IS MY HERO TODAY.

BUT...DARN IT....I PUT IT UNDER MY PILLOW LAST NIGHT....AND NO MONEY THIS MORNING.

BAKE THOSE CHRISTMAS COOKIES YET?

DENNIS VOY
