A DELMAR MAN WAS TAKEN TO UNIVERSITY HOSPITALS IN IOWA CITY LAST NIGHT AFTER HIS TRACTOR PINNED HIM. RANDY BUDDE, AGE 41, WAS OPERATING THE TRACTOR IN RURAL BELLEVUE WHEN THE TRACTOR OVERTURNED AND HE WAS TRAPPED UNDER IT. HIS INJURIES ARE NOT BELIEVED TO BE SERIOUS.
JOSH IHRIG OF MAQUOKETA, 23, LEFT HIS STALLED VEHICLE ON 53RD AVENUE SOUTHEAST OF BALDWIN YESTERDAY AFTERNOON, TO GET A TOW TRUCK AND WHILE HE WAS GONE, SOMEONE HIT THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE AND PUSHED IT INTO THE DITCH WHERE IT HIT A TREE STUMP, CAUSING $5,000 IN DAMAGE.

ONE NEIGHBOR SAID IT LOOKS WORSE THAN A FEW MONTHS AGO WHEN DISCUSSION WAS HELD AT A MEETING. THE MEN'S BOWLING ASSOCIATION HELD THEIR ANNUAL BANQUET WEDNESDAY NIGHT AT THE MAQUOKETA COUNTRY CLUB. THE SPONSOR OF THE YEAR, HOWARD RICKELS. JOHN RINGEN WAS MADE AN HONORY MEMBER. NAMED TO THE HALL OF FAME, THE LATE KEITH CROCE OF MAQUOKETA, WHO DIED AT AGE 38 IN APRIL. DALE KLOFT GAVE SOME VERY NICE INDUCTION REMARKS AND KEITH'S PARENTS WERE PRESENT, ALONG WITH HIS BROTHER AND SISTER. KENT SIMMONS RETIRED AS PRESIDENT AND THE NEW PRESIDENT IS DAVE SCHNOOR.
FRANK RANDALL OF MAQUOKETA MADE THE NEWS AGAIN THIS WEEK. THE SUPERVISORS HAVE RECEIVED MORE COMPLAINTS ABOUT HIS PROPERTY ON THE IRON BRIDGE ROAD, AND THAT IT NEEDS TO BE CLEANED UP. ONE NEIGHBOR SAID IT LOOKS WORSE THAN A FEW MONTHS AGO WHEN DISCUSSION WAS HELD AT A MEETING. SUPERVISOR BUCK KOOS SAID IF NOTHING IS DONE ABOUT THE ISSUE, IT WILL MAKE A MOCKERY OF THE NUISANCE ABATEMENT ORDINANCE THE COUNTY HAS.

THE DEWITT NOON LIONS CLUB AND TIPTON LIONS CLUB....BOTH ARE LOOKING AT GETTING A LIONS CLUB GOING IN MAQUOKETA AGAIN. MORE LATER.
AROUND $7,000 HAS BEEN RAISED SO FAR IN THE MAQUOKETA POLICE DEPARTMENT DRIVE TO GET A K-9 DOG FOR THE DEPARTMENT. LOOKS LIKE IT WILL HAPPEN, BUT A LOT MORE MONEY WILL HAVE TO BE DONATED BY CITIZENS. MAQUOKETA AND JACKSON COUNTY HAVE REAL DRUG PROBLEMS AND HAVING ANOTHER DOG WILL CERTAINLY HELP.
