SUNDAY IN MAQUOKETA....GOING TO BE A WARM ONE....

I'M STILL HERE....DOING FINE....AND VERY BUSY.

SORRY I HAVE BEEN SKIPPING THIS REPORT REGULARLY....WILL TRY TO DO
BETTER, BUT NO GUARANTEE. AFTER 7 YEARS OF THESE, IT IS GETTING EASIER
AT END OF DAY TO LEAVE THE OFFICE AFTER A LONG DAY AND SKIP THE REPORT.
GETTING OLDER YOU KNOW! HAD A 65TH BIRTHDAY THIS PAST TUESDAY. STAFF
TOOK ME TO LUNCH WITH AN RTA BUS....TO THE NOON LUNCH AT THE SENIOR
CENTER...MY FIRST OFFICIAL LUNCH THERE. GOOD FOOD, BUT DOUBT IF I WILL
MAKE MANY OF THOSE YET AS RETIREMENT IS NOT IN MY PLANS FOR ALONG TIME.
PICTURES OF THE BIRTHDAY ON THE HOME PAGE.

ON DENNIS DAILY PHOTO..CHECK FOR A NICE PICTURE OF RED HENTON SINGING
WITH DAUGHTERS NANCY AND JUDY AT THE FULTON CHRUCH 130TH ANNIVERSARY TWO
SUNDAYS AGO.

THE ROTARY CITIZEN OF WEEK THIS WEEK WAS KATHY MANSON. LAST WEEK, OWEN
THORSON AND THIS COMING WEEK, ALICE BURMAHL.....THREE OF THE 5 LONGTIME
TEACHERS RETIRING THIS MONTH.

THE NEW HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL IS NOW THE ASSISTANT AT WESTERN
DUBUQUE...MORE ON HIM NEXT WEEK.

NO NEW POLICE CHIEF YET.

THEY STARTED WORK ON NEW TACO JOHNS RESTAURANT THIS WEEK.

WORK CONTINUES ON THE REMODELING OF BUILDING FOR NEW AUTO PARTS STORE.

4 NEW HOMES GOING UP THIS SUMMER OUT BY NEW GOLF COURSE.

CITY DECIDED...NO....TO PUTTING OUT DUMPSTERS FOR TRUCKERS TO USE ON
CITY STREET NEXT TO FAMILY DOLLAR DISTRIBUTION PLANT. CITY SAYS IT IS
PROBLEM....THE TRASH....FOR FAMILY DOLLAR TO DEAL WITH.

THE ATV RACE COURSE JUST SOUTH OF INDUSTRIAL PARK IS BEING WORKED ON
DAILY. LOTS OF HILLS AND CURVES...SHOULD BE A FUN PLACE FOR THOSE
POPULAR MACHINES.

CITY A WEEK AGO DECIDED TO PUT THE NEW ARC PROJECT ON NOVEMBER
BALLOT...NOW, THINKING INSTEAD OF PUTTING ONE AND A HALF MILLION TOWARD
PROJECT THROUGH THE TIMBER CITY DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION. MORE AT NEXT
MEETING. BUT EVEN IF THEY APPROVE THAT PLAN, THE ARC COMMITTEE STILL
NEEDS TO RAISE ABOUT 3 MORE MILLION ON THEIR OWN...A BIG TASK.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY. KIDS ARE TAKING NANCY TO BREAKFAST AT DECKER
HOTEL..AND I GET TO GO ALONG.

HAVE A GOOD WEEK.

DENNIS VOY
