COMMERCE SPONSORED A JOB FAIR YESTERDAY (4-25-18) AT THE TIMBER EVENTS
CENTER AT TIMBER LANES. FIRST .....FROM 1 UNTIL 2:30 p.m. WAS FOR HIGH SCHOOL
STUDENTS AND FROM 2:30 until 4:30, ADULTS LOOKING FOR A JOB.
GOOD TURN OUT OF STUDENTS AND KIND OF A LOW TURNOUT FOR ADULTS.
ALL THE BUSINESS PLACES BELOW HAD, AND STILL HAVE, A JOB OPENING, SO
PASS THE WORD TO ANYONE YOU KNOW THAT IS LOOKING FOR A JOB, TO CHECK
THIS DAILY REPORT. I TOOK A FEW PHOTOS OF STUDENTS THAT STOPPED BY THE

SINCE 1967, BECOMING PARTNERS THEN WITH ALEX AND RUTH ANN BORMAN. AFTER THE SUDDEN DEATH OF ALEX IN 2006, BOB AND CAROL PURCHASED RUTH AND ALEX'S PART OF THE BUSINESS. THIS MONTH, BOB AND CAROL ANNOUNCED THAT THEY HAVE SOLD THE PRESTON MEATS WHOLESALE DISTRIBUTION PART OF THEIR BUSINESS TO AN ILLINOIS FIRM NEAR ST. LOUIS. THE PRESTON MEATS AND PRESTON GROCERY WILL CONTINUE TO BE OWNED AND OPERATED BY BOB AND CAROL. THEY ASKED KMAQ NEWS TO THANK THEIR CUSTOMERS FOR THEIR

WE HAD TWO LOCAL RUNNERS IN THE BOSTON MARATHON.
LISA MANDERSCHEID OF MAQUOKETA COVERED THE COURSE IN 4-HOURS AND 10 MINUTES. IT WAS THE FIRST TIME FOR HER.
AND STEVE MAYBERRY, SON OF WAYNE AND BARB MAYBERRY OF
MAQUOKETA, RAN IT IN OVER 4 HOURS....I WAS NOT GIVEN THE EXACT TIME.
