THIS DAILY REPORT (STARTED IN 1991).....
WILL NOT HAVE WEATHER....
NOT HAVE LOCAL SPORTS....
NOT HAVE LOCAL NEWS.....
BUT WILL HAVE PHOTOS ONLY WITH SHORT CAPTIONS.
ANYONE LOCALLY OR ANYWHERE IN THE COUNTRY (OR WORLD) CAN LISTEN TO OUR LOCAL NEWSCASTS ON THEIR COMPUTER. WE DO "STREAMING" OF OUR MAJOR NEWSCASTS AT 7:45 A.M....12:15 P.M....5:05 P.M....AND 9:45 P.M. (IF A ST. LOUIS CARDINAL GAME RUNS AFTER 9:45, THERE WILL NOT BE THE NEWSCAST THAT NIGHT).
EVERY LOCAL NEWS STORY IS AIRED ON ALL FOUR
NEWSCASTS BEFORE TAKEN OFF AIR, SO REGARDLESS OF WHICH ONE YOU LISTEN TO, YOU
ARE GETTING ALL THE STORIES OF THE PAST 24 HOURS.
NOW...FOR TODAY....
THE KEY MOTEL WENT DOWN TODAY.
RONANN'S FLORAL SHOP IS GOING UP ON WEST PLATT.
THE MAIN PART OF EAST QUARRY STREET IS PAVED. HERE, EAST QUARRY LOOKING AT EAST END OF IT.

always enjoyed the Daily Report
ReplyDeleteWas good while it lasted. Hard to catch up on news the next day or even later when live is the only option. If your going to just pictures might as well delete the blog and move to Instagram.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear this. As someone in a completely different time zone, it is not always convenient to try to listen to live news. I depended on the Daily Report to alert me to events involving old friends or acquaintances, especially stories of deaths of people with Maquoketa connections. I checked the report daily. Not sure I will find it necessary to do that anymore. Don't understand the reasoning other than using this as a way to boost numbers of listeners. I don't think that will be the result. People will just look for other sources for local events.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree, I really miss the Daily Report. If all that's posted is photos, I probably won't visit the site near as often...
DeleteSeems like there should be staff to handle your blog for you....I think you'll lose a lot of your online fan base.
ReplyDeleteThe loss of on demand access to the local news means I'll have little to no reason to check this blog. Wrong move for today's society.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree. Bring back the old daily report.
DeleteThis is a very poor decision. Buh-bye, blog.
ReplyDeletei agree with all of you. this blog is the only way i have of keeping up with the happenings in maquoketa. do not receive the radio station. what a BAD decision!!
ReplyDeleteI liked checking the daily report when travelling. You could read it after 2-3 days and catch up. Only having live reports are no good if you miss a few days. Boo hoo Dennis, have someone help you!
