FRIDAY DAILY REPORT

TODAY WE HAD SUNSHINE.
TODAY WE HAD RAIN.
TODAY WE HAD WIND.
TODAY WE HAD AT 2:30 THIS AFTERNOON, BLOWING SNOW AND
FOR A FEW MINUTES IT LOOKED LIKE A WINTER BLIZZARD.
HIGH OF AROUND 40.
BETTER WEATHER FOR THE WEEKEND.     BRING  UP THE  KMAQ
HOME PAGE FOR THE FULL WEEKEND FORECAST.

A WEEK FROM TODAY, I OPEN THE 61 DRIVE-IN THEATRE.   SURE
HOPE WEATHER NEXT WEEKEND WILL BE BETTER.

DESPITE THE WEATHER, THEY CONTINUED WORKING ON THE DOWNTOWN
MAIN STREET CONSTRUCTION PROJECT.

DALE FISHER ABOVE, WAS SCHEDULED TO SPEAK IN MAQUOKETA AT
MAQUOKETA ART EXPERIENCE THIS MONDAY NIGHT BUT THE PROGRAM
HAS BEEN POSTPONED UNTIL  WEDNESDAY NIGHT, APRIL 27TH AT 6 P.M.
THIS IS ONE OF A SERIES OF UNIVERSITY OF IOWA DISCUSSION PROGRAMS AND IT FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.   HE WILL TALK ABOUT "GRANT WOOD'S PLAID SWEATER".
LAST NIGHT, WE ATTENDED THE ONE-HOUR CONCERT BY THE UNIVERSITY
OF  IOWA JAZZ BAND.    EIGHTEEN MEMBERS AND DIRECTOR AND A GOOD
SHOW.   SOME REAL TALENTED STUDENT MUSICIANS.    AND A NEARLY FULL HOUSE OF ABOUT 80.    THEY HAVE SEATING FOR AROUND 100.

DICK WOOD, AGE 72, DIED YESTERDAY AT OLIVER SPRINGS, TENNESSEE.
HE WAS BORN IN MAQUOKETA, AND GRADUATED FROM MAQUOKETA HIGH
WHERE HE WAS A VERY GOOD TRACK MAN FROM '59 TO '62.    HE WAS ONCE
THE STATE CHAMPION IN THE MILE AND TWO-MILE MEDLEY TEAM.
AFTER GRADUATING, HE WORKED FOR HIS FATHER, ALVIN WOOD OF
ALVIN WOOD AND SON WELL DRILLING.    LATER MOVED TO TENNESSEE
WHERE HE AGAIN WORKED FOR A WELL DRILLING FIRM.    HE IS
SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE, DEBORAH, 3 CHILDREN, JAYSON WOOD AND
JOSH WOOD BOTH IN MAQUOKETA AND ANGELA WEISGARBER IN
TENNESSEE, AND 12 GRANDCHILDREN.    WE HAVE NOT RECEIVED
FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS AT THIS TIME.
