SUNNY THIS MORNING, MOSTLY CLOUDY THIS AFTERNOON AND A HIGH
TODAY OF 49.
WEEKEND WEATHER WILL BE GOOD.
THE CORNER MEXICAN RESTAURANT IN DOWNTOWN MAQUOKETA THAT
WAS A BRIGHT YELLOW HAS BEEN REPAINTED THIS WEEK TO A BRIGHT
ORANGE. LOOKS GOOD SO FAR. I WILL TAKE A PICTURE OF IT WHEN
IT IS DONE.
THE CITY COUNCIL THIS WEEK AGREED TO SELL THE ALLEY BETWEEN SECOND AND NORTH NIAGARA STREETS TO BRAD DEERY MOTORS. THERE ARE FOUR LOTS MAKING UP THE ALLEY THAT HAS NO PURPOSE AS BRAD DEERY OWNS THE LAND ALL
AROUND THE ALLEY AND THAT LAND IS FOR CAR DISPLAYS. AT THE PUBLIC HEARING, NO ONE SPOKE AND THERE WERE NO PHONE CALLS. THE LAND WAS SOLD FOR $400 AND BRAD DEERY WILL PAY THE LEGAL FEES.
READ ALL ABOUT THE TORQUE FEST COMING TO MAQUOKETA NEXT APRIL
BY GOING TO: www.vintagetorquefest.com
WE HAVE ONE AREA FOOTBALL TEAM STILL IN THE PLAYOFFS. NORTH CEDAR OF
STANWOOD WILL PLAY THEIR NEXT GAME MONDAY NIGHT.
WENT PAST THE TRUCK STOP LAST NIGHT AND I HAVE NEVER SEEN SO MANY TRUCKS IN MAQUOKETA AT ONE PLACE. MAQUOKETA'S TRUCK STOP
AT THE SOUTH EDGE OF TOWN ACROSS FROM WAL MART IS A VERY POPULAR
PLACE WITH TRUCKERS.
AND WITH THAT, I'LL TRUCK OUT OF HERE FOR NOW.
