HE WAS RUSHED TO THE DUBUQUE HOSPITAL AND THEN TRANSFERRED TO UNIVERSITY HOSPITALS IN IOWA CITY WHERE HE WAS OPERATED ON SUNDAY TO REPAIR A NECK INJURY.
AND HE HAD ANOTHER FOUR-HOUR OPERATION TODAY. RUMOR HAS IT THAT
HE HAS "FEELINGS" IN HIS ARMS AND LEGS AND THAT WITH THERAPY, WILL
BE ABLE TO WALK AND GET BACK TO NORMAL.
HE WENT DOWN THE SLIDE HEAD-FIRST, INTO ABOUT A FOOT OF WATER.
HE IS THE SON OF MIKE AND JEAN AND IS SIGNED-UP TO GO TO ST. AMBROSE
COLLEGE THIS FALL. HE WAS ALSO ONE OF TWO FOOTBALL SENIORS FROM THIS AREA INVITED TO PLAY IN THE SHRINER'S ALL STAR GAME THIS SUMMER.

EVENT TOMORROW AT THE JOHN DEERE CLASSIC GOLF TOURNAMENT. JERRY FARRELL QUALIFIED BY WINNING THE "DRIVE-THE-MIDDLE" CONTEST AT DEERE RUN IN SILVIS ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON. JERRY AND THREE OTHER AMATEURS WILL TEE-OFF WITH PRO J.J. HENRY EARLY TOMORROW AFTERNOON. JERRY TOLD KMAQ HE USED HIS OLDER CLEVELAND 460 DRIVER TO WIN THE CONTEST. HE ALSO GOT $600 WORTH OF GOLF EQUIPMENT AND HIS SON, JIM, WILL BE HIS CADDIE TOMORROW.
A BREAK-IN LAST NIGHT AT THE RENTAL BUSINESS ON SOUTH JONES. OWNER DENNIS ANDERSON SAID SOMEONE BROKE A WINDOW AND TOOK MONEY AND A LOCK BOX.
