JACKSON COUNTY SHERIFF RUSS KETTMANN HAS NAMED ONE OF HIS DEPUTIES, TERRY ROLING, TO THE CIVIL DEPUTY POSITON BEING VACATED BY BILL DEPPE WHO IS RETIRING THIS MONTH. ROLING, WITH THE SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT SINCE 1997, WILL FOCUS MAINLY ON CIVIL DUTIES, BUT WILL ALSO CONTINUE HIS REGUALR DEPUTY PATROL. BRANDON BECK WILL START FULL TIME AS A DEPUTY JANUARY 1ST. HE HAS BEEN A PART TIME DEPUTY AND JAILER FOR SEVERAL YEARS.
ON THE POLICE BLOTTER.....PAM ROSENBERG OF MAQUOKETA SAID SOMEONE TOOK HER WALLET FROM HER PURSE WHILE IT WAS IN A CART AT WALMART AT 11:13 SUNDAY MORNING. THE WALLET CONTAINED CREDIT CARDS, DRIVER'S LICENSE AND $150 IN CASH.
IT IS HOMECOMING WEEK FOR MAQUOKETA. YESTERDAY AFTERNOON, AT THE HIGH SCHOOL CEREMONY, CHELSI HEISER WAS NAMED QUEEN AND DANNY CAVEN WAS ANNOUNCED AS KING.
A MAQUOKETA HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATE, JUDY HEINRICH, WILL BE CALLED TO SERVE FIRST LUTHERAN CHURCH IN MAQUOKETA AS ASSOCIATE PASTOR.
THE CHURCH HAS BEEN WITHOUT A SECOND PASTOR FOR ABOUT A YEAR.
THE CONGREGATION WILL VOTE (FORMALITY) ON THE HIRING OCTOBER 22ND.
PASTOR HEINRICH IS A 1997 GRADUATE OF WARTBURG SEMINARY IN DUBUQUE.
IN 1984, SHE RECEIVED A DEGREE OF MASTERS OF MUSIC EDUCATION FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI. JUDY, DIVORCED, HAS AN ADULT SON WHO LIVES AND WORKS IN CHICAGO AND A DAUGTHER AT HOME, A JUNIOR IN HIGH SCHOOL.
HER MOTHER IS MARIE AND HER DAD, MARCEL, IS NO LONGER LIVING. A BROTHER JOEL, IS A RURAL MAQUOKETA DAIRY FARMER. FOR THE PAST NINE YEARS, SHE HAS SERVED AS PASTOR OF FAITH LUTHERAN CHURCH IN ANDOVER.
