DAY EVENT SUNDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING AT PEARSON CENTER ON THE FAIRGROUNDS.
THE AFTERNOON ACTIVITIES INCLUDED A PROGRAM AND THE HALL OF
FAME INDUCTION. THE LATE ED KIRCHOFF OF MAQUOKETA WAS PUT IN THE HALL OF FAME. HE WAS A LONG TIME BUSINESSMAN WHO DONATED MONEY FOR
MAQUOKETA'S FIRST PUBLIC SWIMMING POOL, WHICH HE DEDICATED IN MEMORY OF HIS SON WHO WAS KILLED IN WWII. HE WAS IN THE DAIRY AND ICECREAM
BUSINESS AND ALSO HAD A LOCKER PLANT.
ALSO INDUCTED WAS HELEN STODDARD, A LONG TIME TEACHER IN
MAQUOKETA. SHE LEFT LARGE SUMS OF MONEY FOR TO THE HOSPITAL,
THE HISTORICAL SOCIETY AND HER CHURCH.
AND...THE MEAL WAS GREAT. SURE LIKED MY BLUEBERRY PIE.
A NEW DIRECTOR HAS BEEN NAMED FOR THE OHNWARD FINE ARTS CENTER,
ALREADY CELEBRATING ITS 5TH ANNIVERSARY.....ON EAST PLATT
MAQUOKETA. THE 800 SEAT THEATRE WILL BE MANAGED BY RICHARD HALL OF MOUNT CARROLL, ILLINOIS. HE REPLACES LIZ LECHTENBERG AND STARTED
LAST WEEK. HALL HAS BEEN DIRECTOR AT TIMBER LAKE PLAYHOUSE IN MT.
CARROLL FOR THE PAST TWO YEARS. PREVIOUSLY, HE WAS IN RADIO SALES
IN DUBUQUE. ALSO AN ANNOUNCER FOR THE KAT-FM STATION. HALL SAID MOST OF THE PRODUCTIONS AT OHNWARD HAVE BEEN SCHEDULED THROUGH MAY.
HALL AND HIS WIFE PLAN TO MOVE TO MAQUOKETA AFTER THEY SELL
THEIR HOME IN MT. CARROLL.

AT 12:45 P.M. FROM THE UNI DOME IN CEDAR FALLS....ON KMAQ AM, FM AND
