MONDAY DAILY REPORT

IT WAS A WET WEEKEND IN MAQUOKETA...1.4 INCHES OF RAIN.
NICE TODAY, BUT COOL...ONLY59.
THE REST OF THE WEEK WILL BE WARMER AND LITTLE OR NO RAIN.

57% OF THE CORN CROP IN IOWA IS PLANTED, A DAY AHEAD OF LAST
YEAR ABND 8 DAYS AHEAD OF THE 5-YEAR AVERAGE.
7% OF THE SOYBEAN CROP IS IN, 5 DAYS AHEAD OF THE 5-YEAR
AVERAGE.

TOMORROW IS THE 3RD ANNUAL GREAT GIVE DAY IN JACKSON COUNTY.
GIVING WILL BE DONE OVER THE INTERNET, OR AT THE CHAMBER OFFICE, AND WILL GO ON FOR A 24-HOUR PERIOD....STARTING AT MIDNIGHT MAY 3RD.
RESIDENTS CAN GIVE AT WWW.GREATGIVEDAY.ORG...GIVE AS LITTLE AS $10
AND GIVE TO AS MANY OF THE 17 NON-PROFITS ON THE LIST AS THEY
WISH.    LAST YEAR, NEARLY $25,000 WAS RAISED FOR 16 NON-PROFITS.

SATURDAY NIGHT IN THE DANCING WITH THE STARS, DUBUQUE STYLE AT FIVE FLAGS THEATRE.   SHE NOW IS EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF ALUMNI AND COMMUNICATIONS AT LORAS COLLEGE.    SHE RAISED A RECORD $160,991
FOR THE LORAS COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP FUND.   HER DANCING PARTNER
WAS ADAM KIEFFER.     THERE WAS A FULL HOUSE FOR THE DANCING
PROGRAM THAT FEATURED BOBBIE AND 9 OTHER CELEBRITIES AND
THAT RAISED $336,907.    IT WAS THE 7TH ANNUAL EVENT.   BIG BIG
DOLLARS.     THAT SUMMER AT KMAQ, BOBBIE AND BOB MOLER, DID A
KMAQ SUMMER ROAD SHOW FROM VARIOUS COMMUNITIES IN THE KMAQ
AREA.     THEY SOLD ADVERTSING, WROTE THE SPOTS, AND DID THE
BROADCAST EACH DAY "LIVE AND DIRECT" FROM THE TOWN, INTERVIEWING
LOCAL LEADERS.   THEY DID A GREAT JOB AS I RECALL.

MAQUOKETA'S BUSIEST CORNER, MAIN AND PLATT, IS NO LONGER  BUSY.
IT IS CLOSED.     AS OF THIS MORNING.    INTENSE DIGGING ALREADY
TODAY.
13 POLLING PLACES OPEN AT 7 TOMORROW MORNING IN CLINTON
COUNTY.    THE ISSUE...$22-MILLION IN BONDS FOR A NEW COUNTY JAIL
IN CLINTON.

HAVE A GOOD WEEK.

THE ST. LOUIS CARDINALS WILL BE WINNING 3 OUT OF 4 GAMES AGAINST
PHILADELHIA THIS WEEK AND NANCY AND I WILL WATCH TWO OF THE GAMES.
