TWO PEOPLE WERE INJURED IN A ROLLOVER CRASH TUESDAY NEAR
DYERSVILLE. BRET GEBHART, AGE 15, OF BELLEVUE AND WYATT SCHIFFER, AGE 19, OF MAQUOKETA. BOTH WERE TAKEN TO MERCY
HOSPITAL IN DUBUQUE. THE ACCIDENT HAPPENED AT 2 P.M. ON
U.S. 20. ACCORDING TO THE REPORT, COLIN MEIER, AGE 19, OF
MAQUOKETA, WAS EASTBOUND ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN HE LOST
CONTROL OF HIS VEHICLE WHILE TRYING TO SWITCH LANES. HE ENTERED
THE SOUTH DITCH AND ROLLED HIS CAR. THE TWO INJURED MEN
WERE PASSENGERS IN THE MEIER CAR.

DELMAR, MAQUOKETA AND I DROVE PAST ONE SUNDAY AT MENDOTA,
ILLINOIS.
SPORTS: FOUR MAQUOKETA SOFTBALL PLAYERS HAVE RECEIVED POST-SEASON RECOGNITION TO THE WAMAC CONFERENCE ALL-CONFERENCE EAST DIVISION TEAM. NAMED TO THE SECOND TEAM WERE MCKENNA OWEN AS AN INFIELDER AND CASSIE RUPPERT AS A UTILITY PLAYER. HONORABLE MENTION FOR MAQUOKETA WERE INFIELDER
LIZ GAVIN AND OUTFIELDER HANNA GRUENWALD.
WENT TO DEWITT'S "TUNES IN TOWN" EVENT LAST NIGHT AT LINCOLN PARK
IN DOWNTOWN DEWITT. THE PARK WAS NEARLY PACKED. WE STOOD IN LINE FOR FOOD FOR 40-MINUTES.
"TUNES IN TOWN" (NOW IN SECOND YEAR) IS HELD FROM 6 UNTIL 8 EVERY
TUESDAY NIGHT, WITH A DIFFERENT BAND, A FOOD STAND BY SOMEONE
DIFFERENT, AND KID'S PLAY EACH WEEK. THEY ARE BUILDING A BANDSHELL IN THE PARK AND THE BAND USED IT LAST NIGHT.
DEWITT'S DOWNTOWN PARK IS USED A LOT.
THE CLINTON COUNTY FAIR IS THIS WEEK IN DEWITT.
THE JONES COUNTY FAIR NEXT WEEK IN MONTICELLO.
AND THE JACKSON COUNTY FAIR, THE LAST WEEK OF JULY IN MAQUOKETA.
