THURSDAY DAILY REPORT

WINDY TODAY.   CLOUDY THIS MORNING.  SUNSHINE THIS AFTERNOON AND
A HIGH OF 46.
TONIGHT...DOWN TO 26 AND TOMORROW, SUNNY AND 46 AGAIN.
SAME KIND OF WEATHER FOR SATURDAY AND SUNDAY.
COOL....BUT, THE GOOD NEWS....STILL NO SNOW.

JACKSON COUNTY'S SOCIAL HOST ORDINANCE HAS BEEN USED FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE IT WAS PUT INTO PLACE A  YEAR AGO.    THE ORDINANCE IS A  CIVIL MATTER, BUT THERE IS A FINE IF CONVICTED.     MAQUOKETA POLICE SGT. DARREN RISINGER CHARGED ERIK ARENSDORF, AGE 22, OF MAQUOKETA WITH VIOLATING THE ORDINANCE.     HE  HOSTED A PARTY ON OCTOBER 25-26 AT 504 S. ELIZA.   THERE WERE PEOPLE UNDER AGE 21 PRESENT AND CONSUMING ALCOHOL ACCORDING TO THE REPORT.
SGT. RISINGER SAID ARENSDORF WAS CHARGING $10 PER PERSON FOR ALL THE ALCOHOL THEY CARED TO DRINK INCLUDING SHOTS OF HARD LIQUOR.
ARENSDORF REFUSED TO SIGN THE TICKET RISENGER PRESENTED TO HIM.
ARENSDORF WAS NOT ARRESTED.
WONDER WHY IT HAD TO END THAT WAY?

THERE WERE SIX PEOPLE SEEKING THE FIVE POSITIONS ON THE JACKSON COUNTY EXTENSION AG COUNCIL ON THE BALLOT TUESDAY.
ELECTED:   DAVID JACOBS, DEBRA STILLMUNKES, MARY LOU JOHNSON, LAURA FARRELL, AND KAREN TILL.     MELISSA WILSON WAS ANOT ELECTED AS SHE RECEIVED THE LOWEDT NUMBER OF VOTES.

THE MAQUOKETA CITY COUNCIL AGREED TO DONATE A FIRE HYDRANT TO THE JACKSON COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS.   MONDAY NIGHT, THE COUNCIL
CAME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT A HYDRANT WOULD BE GOOD AS THERE NOW IS NO HYDRANT INSIDE THE FAIRGROUNDS.

DISNEY'S NEW MOVIE, "BIG HERO 6" STARTS TOMORROW NIGHT AT THE VOY 3 THEATRE.    EARLY REVUES BY CRITICS HAVE BEEN VERY GOOD AND
PREDICTIONS ARE HIGH.    SURE HOPE SO!    GOOGLE THE TITLE TO SEE A TRAILER AND TAKE A LOOK.

HAVE  YOU LOOKED AT THE NEW LEGION WEB SITE I PUT UP A FEW WEEKS
AGO?   I'M A LEGIONAIRE AND I WENT TO LAST  NIGHT'S MEETING AND
ADDED SOME MORE INFORMATION TO THE SITE THIS MORNING.

FRED HARE OF MAQUOEKTA, WHO WORKS AT BRICK TAP, IS UNDERTAKING
THE CHALLEGE OF RAISING FUNDS FOR MAQUOKETA'S CHRSITMAS LIGHTS
THIS COMING HOLIDAY SEDASON.   HARE, SPEAKING THIS NOON AT THE KIWANIS MEETING, HAS A GOAL OF $1,000.   THE MONEY WOULD BE USED
FOR LIGHTS FOR THE TREE AT THE POST OFFICE AND FOR A TREE IN THE GREEN SPACE ON NORTH MAIN STREET.   HE WOULD LIKE A 25 FOOT TREE AT THAT LOCATION.    ANYTHING OVER $1,000 WOULD BE USED TO LIGHT THE STREET LIGHT POLES DOWNTOWN.     IF  YOU WOULD LIKE TO MAKE A DONATION, CALL HIM AT 563-271-9738....OR STOP AT THE CHAMBER OFFICE.

THE BELLEVUE MARQUETTE CATHOLIC GIRLS ARE GOING BACK TO THE STATE VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT NEXT WEEK IN CEDAR RAPIDS.
LAST NIGHT, THEY (RANKED 7TH) DEFEATED DON BOSCO 3 GAMES TO NONE....ALL CLOSE.     THE MARQUETTE GIRLS NOW HAVE A RECORD OF 36 AND 3 AND PLAY AT 4 P.M. NEXT WEDNESDAY AND KMAQ'S MATT CLARK
WILL BE THERE TO BROADCAST THE GAMES.   THEY WERE AT STATE
TWO YEARS AGO.    THEY WIN, THEY GO TO GAME 2 AND IF THEN WIN AGAIN, PLAY FOR THE STATE TITLE.

ANOTHER REASON WHY I HAVE LIKED BEING IN RADIO OVER 56 YEARS....
THERE ARE NEW AND EXCITING THINGS HAPPENING ALMOST EVERY WEEK...
IN SPORTS, NEWS, COMMUNITY EVENTS, ELECTIONS, AND HOLIDAYS....TO NAME A FEW.    AND WE GET TO LISTEN TO MUSIC WHILE WORKING.
HAVE SOMEONE IN YOUR FAMILY THAT MIGHT LIKE TO GET INTO RADIO?
HAVE HIM/HER STOP IN AND TALK TO ME.

KEEP WARM...BUT KEEP "COOL" TOO.

SEE YOU ON THE RADIO!

REMEMBER, 24-7 YOU CAN SEE DOWNTOWN MAQUOKETA ON OUR WEB- CAM ON KMAQ'S HOME PAGE.
AND SEVERAL TIMES A DAY ON OUR  HOME PAGE, YOU CAN LISTEN TO
KMAQ-FM......WHEREVER YOU LIVE!
