THURSDAY DAILY REPORT

WE HAD A THUNDER-LIGHTNING STORM  HIT MAQUOKETA AROUND 3 THIS MORNING AND GOT 1/4 INCH OF RAIN.
THEN, WE HAD CLOUDY SKIES ALL MORNING.    CONSEQUENTLY, WE DID
NOT GET UP TO 90 AS PREDICTED.   WE DID MAKE 84.
COOLER TOMORROW, SLIGHT CHANCE OF RAIN, HIGH OF 74.
SATURDAY, SUNNY AND HIGH OF 73.
SUNDAY, SUNNY AND HIGH OF 74.

LARGE ATHLETIC LOGOS WILL BE PAINTED ON DOWNTOWN MAQUOKETA
SIDEWALKS BY HOMECOMING.    THEY WILL BE DONE BY CLUB HOPE AS A FUNDRAISER.   THE COUNCIL GAVE APPROVAL FOR THE 18 BY 48-INCH
LOGOS AT TUESDAY'S CITY COUNCIL MEETING.   THEY SHOULD LAST 4 TO 5 MONTHS BUT COULD BE REMOVED WITH A PRESSURE WASHER.
CLUB HOPE IS RAISING MONEY FOR A TRIP TO THE AMAZONS NEXT YEAR.

KMAQ-AM IS BACK ON THE AIR, USING OUR BACK-UP TRANSMITTER.

A NEW ATTORNEY HAS JOINED THE LAW FIRM OF SCHOENTHALER, BARTELT, KAHLER AND REICKS IN MAQUOKETA, RIGHT NEXT TO KMAQ.
CALLA  PARACHETTI IS FROM BETTENDORF, WITH A LAW DEGREE FROM DRAKE UNIVERSITY AND DRAKE LAW SCHOOL.   SHE IS ENGAGED AND LIVING IN MAQUOKETA.   SHE STARTED FORK TUESDAY.


MARY LOU AND LARRY JOHNSON OF RURAL MAQUOKETA WERE AMONG
THE 2014 INDUCTEES INTO THE IOWA 4-H HALL OF FAME.  IN ADDITION
TO BEING ACTIVE WITH 4-H, BOTH HAVE HELD LEADERSHIP ROLES IN THE JACKSON COUNTY CATTLEMEN'S ASSOCIATION.    LARRY IS IN THE KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS AND MARY LOO IS A MASTER GARDNER.

MY PIE CAME OUT PRETTY GOOD.
