THE CITY OF MAQUOKETA IS GOING TO CRACK DOWN ON JUNK AND
VEHICLES IN RESIDENT'S YARDS. THIS WEEK, MAQUOKETA POLICE
ISSUED FOUR ABATEMENTS TO RESIDENTS. RECENTLY SEVERAL REAL
ESTATE AGENTS ASKED THE CITY'S PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE TO WORK ON SOME TYPE OF ORDINANCE WHICH WOULD TAKE CARE OF EYESORES.
THE JACKSON COUNTY SUPERVISORS ARE WORKING ON A LONG-TERM
LEASE WITH THE JACKSON COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY FOR ITS EXISTING
MUSEUM AT THE FAIRGROUNDS. THE CURRENT LEASE EXPIRES IN 2019, WHICH WAS SET UP OVER 40 YEARS AGO.
THE MILLERTOWN BRIDGE AT 10200 30TH AVENUE WILL BE CLOSED FOR THE NEXT THREE MONTHS FOR REPAIRS.
SOME BUILDINGS HAVE BEEN OLD IN DOWNTOWN MAQUOKETA.
