THE CITY OF MAQUOKETA AND THE CITY SIDEWALK COMMITTEE WILL
MEET JOINTLY MONDAY AT 6:30 P.M. AT CITY HALL, PRIOR TO THE
REGULAR MEETING AT 7.
THE TOPIC WILL BE SIDEWALK CURB RAMP LOCATIONS THAT STILL
NEED TO BE BROUGHT INTO COMPLIANCE WITH THE AMERICANS FOR
DISABILITIES ACT. MANY CORNER CURBS HAVE ALREADY BEEN
DONE OVER THE PAST FEW YEARS AND MORE WILL BE DONE BEFORE
THE SUMMER IS OVER AND NEXT YEAR. AT A MINIMUM, THE CITY WILL SPEND $10,000 ON THE CORNER SIDEWALK CURBS BETWEEN NOW AND JUNE 30TH NEXT YEAR. ANYONE WANTING TO SEE THE CITY'S ADA CURB RAMP TRANSITION PLAN SHOULD ATTEND THE MEETING AT 6:30 NEXT MONDAY NIGHT.
TWO PEOPLE WERE CHARGED AFTER THEY ALLEGEDLY STABBED ANOTHER PERSON WTIH AN ICE PICK IN THE PARKING LOT AT WAL MART IN
MAQUOKETA. THE VICTIM, WHO WAS NOT NAMED, RECEIVED MINOR INJURIES. CHARGED WITH AGGRAVATED ASSAULT WERE 36 YEAR OLD JENNIFER MAXWELL OF DELMAR AND 29 YEAR OLD DAVID COOK OF DELMAR. MAQUOKETA POLICE SGT. DARREN RISINGER SAID THE PAIR PULLED THE VICTIM INTO THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THEIR VEHICLE AT 6:39 P.M. YESTERDAY AND PUNCHED HIM AND STABBED HIM TWICE WITH AN
ICE PICK IN HIS BACK AND SHOULDER.
A NEW LOCAL MANAGER IS BEING SOUGHT FOR ALLIANCE WATER RESOURCES WHO UNDER CONTRACT OPERATE THE CITY'S WATER AND
WASTEWATER DEPARTMENT. CITY MANAGER BRIAN WAGNER SIAD TODD ALLEN IS NO LONGER WTIH ALLIANCE. NO FURTHER INFORMATION WAS PROVIDED. ALLEN SAID THIS MORNING HE DID NOT WANT TO COMMENT.
ALLIANCE NOW HAS AN INTERIM MANAGER AT THE PLANT.

TOURNAMENT GAME LAST NIGHT AND PLAY AGAIN TOMORROW NIGHT AT MANCHESTER AT 7 AND AGAIN, LEIGHTON HEPKER WILL HAVE THE PLAY-BY-PLAY OF THE GAME ON KMAQ.
