THE MAQUOKETA POLICE DEPARTMENT WILL BE GETTING A NEW
DRUG DOG. THE CITY COUNCIL APPROVED THE DEPARTMENT'S SIGNING OF A CONTRACT WITH A MICHIGAN FIRM FOR A LABRADOR. THE COST WILL
BE $8,500 FOR THE DOG AND TRAINING. POLICE CHIEF BRAD KORANDA
SAID $7,655 HAS BEEN RAISED AND DONATIONS ARE STILL BEING SOUTH.
DONATIONS CAN BE MADE TO THE MAQUOKETA PD K-9 FUND.
THE CURRENT DOG RIKKI WILL RETIRE SOON.
THE SCHOOL LUNCH PROGRAM IN MAQUOKETA WILL BE DEALING WITH
THOSE THAT ARE BEHING IN PAYMENTS. LETTERS WILL BE SENT TO PARENTS. THERE ARE SOME BEHIND AROUND $200 OR MORE.
MAQUOKETA MAYOR DON SCHWENKER IS LOOKING FOR A WOMAN TO
APPLY FOR THE CITY CABLE COMMISSION. AN APPLICATION FORM CAN
BE PICKED UP AT CITY HALL.
