99 TODAY
A LITTLE COOLER TOMORROW

THREE YOUNG WOMEN ARE SEEKING THE JACKSON COUNTY FAIR QUEEN
CROWN.   THE FAIR IS NEXT WEEK.
THE THREE ARE:
SAMANTHA LIPPENS, AGE 19, OF MILES, A STUDENT AT WARTBURG COLLEGE.
HER PARENTS ARE DOUG AND HEIDI LIPPENS.
ALLISON MARVIN, AGE 19, OF RURAL BELLEVUE.    SHE ATTENDS IOWA
STATE UNIVERSITY IN AMES AND IS THE  DAUGHTER OF BRAD AND MARILYN
MARVIN
AND
NICOLE TRENKAMP, AGE 19, THE DAUGHTER OF LONNIE AND LOLA
TRENKAMP OF RURAL PRESTON.   SHE ATTENDS NORTHEAST IOWA COMMUNITY COLLEGE.
THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE QUEEN WILL BE AT 2 P.M. THIS SUNDAY
AFTERNOON AND THE CORONATION WILL BE AT PEARSON CENTER ON THE FAIRGROUNDS.
THE JACKSON COUNTY FAIR FAMILY, THE RUTH ANN SCOTT FAMILY, WILL BE HONORED DURING THE CORONATION.
THE FAIR OFFICIALLY STARTS WITH THE PARADE NEXT WEDNESDAY NIGHT.
BUT, THE PRE-FAIR EVENTS, INCLUDING THE QUEEN CORONATION, START
THIS SUNDAY.  
A 4-H PANCAKE BREAKFAST WILL BE HELD SUNDAY FROM 8 AM  UNTIL
NOON AT THE FAIRGROUNDS.
ALSO SUNDAY, THE 4-H SHARE THE FUN TALENT SHOW BEGINS AT NOON AND EDUCATION PRESENTATIONS AT 2 P.M. AT BOYER HALL.    THE DOG SHOW
STARTS AT 2 P.M. SUNDAY IN THE WEST SHOW BARN.
SO...THIS SUNDAY, LOTS TO SEE AT THE  FAIRGROUNDS AND NO
ADMISSION.

WHAT WILL IT COST TO GO TO THE FAIR IN MAQUOKETA NEXT WEEK?
AGE 13 AND ABOVE, $10 AND 12 AND UNDER, FREE.   SENIORS 65 AND
OLDER, $7 ON FRIDAY, SENIOR CITIZENS DAY ONLY.  OTHERWISE $10.
FAIR FUN CARDS ARE AVAILABLE IN ADVANCE FOR $25 THRU NEXT TUESDAY AND NEXT WEDNESDAY, JULY 25TH, $30.   NO FUN CARDS AFTER
WEDNESDAY.

IF THE MAQUOKETA CARDINALS WIN THEIR TOURNAMENT BASEBALL GAME
TONIGHT AGAINST WESTERN DUBUQUE.......THEY GO TO THE STATE
TOURNAMENT.     THE LAST TIME A CARDINAL BASEBALL TEAM WENT
TO STATE WAS IN 1983.  
THE GAME IS AT 7 TONIGHT, HERE, AND WILL BE BROADCAST ON KMAQ-AM-FM  AND WWW.KMAQ.COM.
THE PRESTON BOYS LOST THEIR GAME LAST NIGHT 2 TO 0 AND
WILL NOT BE GOING TO STATE FOR A SECOND YEAR IN A ROW.
THE BELLEVUE MARQUETTE GIRLS WON A  CONSOLATION GAME
EARLY THIS AFTERNOON, 4 TO 0.
