AFTER YESTERDAY'S HIGH IN THE 90'S... TODAY...MEMORIAL DAY....IT IS VERY
WINDY AND COOLER....HIGH TODAY IN THE 70'S.
STILL WAITING FROM MORE RAIN.
I ATTENDED THE "MEMORIAL DAY" SERVICE AT THE MIDDLE SCHOOL.
ABOVE
.....SOME PHOTOS.
KENT CRAWFORD AND THE MAQUOKETA HIGH SCHOOL BAND ENTERTAINED
WITH PATRIOTIC SONGS BEFORE THE SERVICE AND DURING IT.
CLIFF MERRICK, OF THE VFW AND LEGION, WAS EMCEE AT BOTH THE
MIDDLE SCHOOL AND FOR THE SHORT SERVICE AFTER AT MT. HOPE
CEMETERY. KATHY SEYFERT OF MAQUOKETA GAVE A VERY NICE
ADDRESS. SHE IS WITH FIDELITY BANK HERE IN MAQUOKETA.
THE LEGION COLOR GUARD GAVE THE GUN SALUTE AT THE CEMETERY,
FOLLOWED BY "TAPS" BY KENT CRAWFORD.
IT WAS VERY WINDY AND THE FLAGS FLEW LIKE YOU LIKE TO SEE IT.
CLIFF MERRICK SAID THEY PLACED 343 FLAGS IN THE AVENUE OF FLAGS.
AT THE CEMETERY, RONANN'S FLORAL SENT SINGLE ROSES TO PASS
OUT TO EVERYONE THERE TO PLACE ON A GRAVE.
A NICE PROGRAM TODAY IN MAQUOKETA TO HONOR OUR VETERANS!
AND A GOOD TURN OUT!
