AS WE WERE BOTH LEAVING SACRED HEART SCHOOL, JOHN DAGUE WAS JUST COMING
IN TO THE DINING ROOM TO EAT. DOESN'T HE LOOK SHARP. TIE AND ALL.
DON'T SEE A LOT OF TIES THESE DAYS. I HAVE KNOWN JOHN FOR FORTY YEARS.
WE WERE BOTH IN THE OLD LION'S CLUB AND BOTH BOTH WORKED ON MANY PROJECTS.
REMEMBER WHEN HE WORKED FOR ORLA DAVIS CLOTHIERS DOWNTOWN, THAT BUILDINIG
WAS ONE OF THREE THAT BURNED DOWN. THEN HE BOUGHT FROM WILBUR, THE
CORNELIUS FARM STORE BUSINESS ON EAST PLATT, THAT IS NOW B & C LIQUOR.
HE MOVED THAT OUT TO A BUILDING SOUTH OF TOWN ON OLD HIWAY 61 AND IS STILL
THERE TODAY WITH HIS FINE DAGUE IMPLEMENT BUSINESS. KEEPS MY 50'S ALLIS
CHALMERS TRACTOR WITH BELLY-MOWER GOING THAT WE USE TO MOW THE 61 DRIVE-IN
6 ACRES. JOHN HAS A GOOD RADIO VOICE TOO AND EMCEES MANY EVENTS, IS
AN FFA SUPPORTER AND DOES A LOT FOR THE COMMUNITY AND LOCAL AGRICULTURE.
THAT OMELET BREAKFAST HE IS ABOUT TO ENJOY IS ONE OF THE BIGGEST BREAKFAST BARGAINS AROUND, TWICE A YEAR, FOR JUST $6...INCLUDES THE OMELET, TOAST,
SWEET ROLL, JUICE AND COFFEE. EDDIE SEEBERGER BUTTERED MY TOAST.
DENNIS VOY
AT $6.00.
