ANOTHER NICE AND WARM DAY TODAY. MAYBE RAIN TONIGHT.
THE JACKSON COUNTY COURTHOUSE WILL BE GETTING A FACELIFT, WHICH ALSO WILL INCLUDE SOME ENERGY EFFICIENCIES. THE COUNTY BOARD APPROVED A CONTRACT FOR $34,000 WITH G.L. STOCKHAM AND SON TO INSTALL A STUCCO LIKE MATERIAL ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE EXISTING STONE WALL ON THE NORTH FRONT OF THE COURTHOUSE. THE OLD WALL WAS LEAKING AND CAUSING PROBLEMS IN THE COUNTY ATTORNEY'S OFFICE. WORK IS ALREADY UNDERWAY AND WILL BE COMPLETED IN TWO WEEKS.
THE BIG DOWNTOWN VACANT LOT WAS NOT SEEDED LAST WEEK. THEY DID IT
TODAY.
THE MAQUOKETA Y WILL HAVE A NEW DIRECTOR NEXT MONTH, REPLACING
MARK PROESCHEL WHO LEFT IN THE SPRING TO TAKE ANOTHER JOB IN
MADISON. HE IS DAVE BAKER WHO HAS BEEN INVOLVED IN SEVERAL YMCA
FACILITIES IN THE AREA, MOST RECENTLY IN OMAHA.
THE MAQUOKETA BOYS PLAY #1 DAVENPORT ASSUMPTION TONIGHT IN
THIER FIRST TOURNAMENT GAME. WE WILL HAVE IT ON KMAQ-FM AT 7.
GO CARDINALS.
HAVE A NICE WEEKEND.
