THE H1N1 FLU VACCINE IS EXPECTED SOMETIME AFTER THANKSGIVING AND IT WILL BE GIVEN FREE.
THE MAQUOKETA DOWNTOWN FIRE MESS CLEAN-UP DATE HAS BEEN MOVED UP FROM NOVEMBER TO OCTOBER. THE CITY RECEIVED WORD TODAY THAT THE EPA $200,000 GRANT IS COMING TO MAQUOKETA IN SEPTEMBER, A LITTLE SOONER THAN EXPECTED. NEXT, A COUNCIL COMMITTEE WILL SELECT A CONSULTING COMPANY TO SET UP THE BIDDING PROCESS. THE INVERVIEWS, REQUIRED BY THE EPA GRANT, WILL BE CONDUCTED NEXT TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY.
