THE BABY AND MOTHER WERE FROM OELWEIN AND VISITING RELATIVES DOWNTOWN.
JONES COUNTY IS ONE OF 14 DECLARED A DISASTER COUNTY. OXFORD JUNCTION IS SANDBAGGING BECAUSE OF HIGH WATER ON THE WAPSI RIVER.
THE JACKSON COUNTY PUBLIC HOSPITAL WILL HAVE OPEN HOUSE OF ITS NEW BUILDING AND OTHER FACILITIES SUNDAY, JUNE 13TH.
DOLORES BREEDEN, 69, OF MAQUOKETA DIED YESTERDAY AT HOSPITAL IN DAVENPORT.
SHE WORKED AT ROSENBERG AUTO SUPPLY FOR 45 YEARS. SURVIVORS INCLUDE A DAUGHTER, KATHY JO EDWARDS OF MAQUOKETA AND A GRANDSON.
DICK STREFF, 78, OF MAQUOKETA,DIED YESTERDAY. HE WAS A MAILMAN FROM 1957 TO 1985.
SURVIVORS INCLUDE HIS WIFE, BETTY, 2 SONS, STEPHEN OF MARION AND MARK OF MAQUOKETA AND 3 DAUGHTERS, PAMELA IN FREMONT, NEBRASKA....AMY STREFF OF MAQUOKETA AND LORA REAFSNIDER OF CLINTON..AND 10 GRANDCHILDREN.
MEL KROHN, AGE 81, OF MAQUOKETA, DIED TODAY AT THE LOCAL HOSPITAL. HE OWNED AND OPERATED MEL'S SUPER VALU IN THE 70'S AND 80'S. HE IS SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE, TWO SONS AND A DAUGHTER.
BACOLAUREATE SERVICE TONIGHT FOR THE MCHS GRADUATES, AT THE HIGH SCHOOL. WILL BE BROADCAST ON KMAQ-AM. THE GUEST SPEAKER HAS JUST RETURNED FROM THE WAR IN IRAQ WHERE HE WAS A CHAPLAIN.
