DEPUTY RUSS LONG SAID CINDY SPRINGER, AGE 37, OF MAQUOKETA WAS DRIVING SOUTH ON HIGHWAY 61 ABOUT 3 MILES NORTH OF MAQUOKETA AND HIT THE DEER. SHE BRAKED QUICKLY AND THE CAR BEHIND HER, DRIVEN BY DIXIE DIETZMAN, AGE 62, OF MAQUOKETA COULDN'T STOP AND HIT THE REAR OF SPRIGER'S VEHICLE. NO INJURIES. $5,000 DAMAGE TO SPRINGER'S 97 PONTIAC AND $3,500 DAMAGE TO DIETZMAN'S 94 PLYMOUTH.

ALSO A SISTER, MARLEY FLANERY OF MAQUOKETA AND 3 BROTHERS, DAVID OF MAQUOKETA AND JACOB AND LUCAS OF NEWTON. HE WAS A 6TH GRADER AT MAQUOKETA MIDDLE SCHOOL.
