A LONGTIME POPULAR RESTAURANT IN MAQUOKETA IS CLOSING AT 8 P.M.
TUESDAY, APRIL 30TH. IT OPENED IN 1971 AND THE PRESENT OWNERS HAVE OWNED IT FOR 36 YEARS. THEY ARE GOING TO SELL IT.
THE 61 DRIVE-IN THEATRE OPENED FOR THE SEASON LAST NIGHT, WITH NEARLY A FULL LOT. ABOVE, STANDING NEXT TO THE NEW TICKET BOOTH, IS CASIE CASEL, WHO FINISHED BUILDING THE LITTLE BUILDING AT 5 YESTERDAY AFTERNOON. IT WAS NEEDED AND IT IS NICE. AND THE YOUNGEST AT THE THEATRE LAST NIGHT WAS HIS GRANDSON GRAYSON, AGE 2 MONTHS. YES..CASIE IS HAPPY ABOUT THE JOB CASEL CONSTRUCTION DID, BUT EXTREMELY HAPPY WITH HIS (AND WIFE BILLIE'S) FIRST GRANDCHILD.
RAINY COLD WET DAY TODAY, WITH SOME SNOW, AND THAT MEANS A SLOW NIGHT TONIGHT AT
THE DRIVE-IN.
BUT BETTER WEATHER STARTS TOMORROW AND
BACK IN THE 60'S BY NEXT WEDNESDAY.
