AGRICULT'URE BUILDING. NANCY AND I HOSTED THE KMAQ BUS TO THE FAIR,
WITH 50 FRIENDS AND LISTENERS OF KMAQ. WE LEFT SHORTLY AFTER 7 A.M....
DROVE THROUGH A LOT OF RAIN AND SOME CONSTRUCTION HIGHWAY WORK....
AND GOT TO THE FAIRGROUNDS AT ABOUT 10:30. AND THERE, NO RAIN AND A
GOOD WEATHER AFTERNOON. IT WAS A BUSY PLACE, WELL ATTENDED FOR
SENIOR DAY.
THIS IS THE 100TH ANNIVERSARY FOR JOHN DEERE EQUIPMENT. THIS TRACTOR
WAS ALSO CARVED IN BUTTER.
THIS NEW HUGE FERRIS WHEEL WAS POPULAR.... AT JUST $6 A RIDE. NANCY AND
I RODE IT JUST BEFORE BOARDING THE BUS FOR HOME.
A PHOTO I TOOK AT THE VERY TOP. THE FEATURE NEARLY IN THE MIDDLE....
A CLOSE-UP COMING.
ANOTHER PHOTO FROM THE TOP, OF THE ENTIRE CARNIVAL.
THE COWS MADE OF BAILING TWINE. I SHOULD HAVE TAKEN A CLOSER PHOTO.
TWO CAROLS, TIRED FROM WALKING, WATCHING SOME OF THE BILL RILEY TALENT
SHOW, HELD DAILY.
THERE IS A TRAILER PULLED BY A TRACTOR THAT TAKES ANYONE ON A FREE
RIDE AROUND THE FAIR GROUNDS. WE STOPPED, THREE GOT ON AND SAT
ACROSS FROM US. A SURPRISE! RECOGNIZE HIM? I'LL TELL YOU ON NEXT REPORT, WHO HE IS.
THANKS TO ALL 50 THAT MADE THE TRIP WITH US. WE STOPPED AT CORALVILLE
FOR SUPPER AND EVERYONE GOT A FREE PIECE OF PIE WITH MEAL.
SORRY THE MEAL SERVING TOOK LONGER THAN I HAD ANTICIPATED AND WE
GOT HOME A LITTLE LATE. IT WAS A LONG DAY, ENDING WITH ACHING FEET.
AND IT WAS A FUN DAY AT ONE OF THE TOP 5 STATE FAIRS IN THE COUNTRY. OVER
A MILLION ATTEND EVERY YEAR AND IT GOES ON THROUGH THE 19TH.
