MAQUOKETA ARTIST ROSE FRANTZEN ACCEPTING HER AWARD WITH MANY
HUMOUROUS (AND SERIOUS TOO) COMMENTS.
SAGE ROSENFELS, 12-YEAR NFL QUARTERBACK AND MAQUOKETA AND
IOWA STATE QUARTERBACK, RESPONDING WITH MANY AD-LIB COMMENTS,
ALSO BOTH HUMOUROUS AND SERIOUS.
MARY JO KLOPPENBERG STEAD OF ARIZONA ACCEPTS THE AWARD
PRESENTED TO HER AND HER HUSBAND JERRE. HE COULD NOT BE
PRESENT BECAUSE OF A FOREIGN BUSINESS TRIP. THE STEADS HAVE CONTRIBUTED MILLIONS OF DOLLARS, INCLUDING OVER $50 MILLION
TO THE NEW CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL AT THE UNIVERSITY OF IOWA, NOW
NAMED THE STEAD FAMILY CHILDRENS HOSPITAL.
BOB GAVIN, THE PUBLIC ADDRESS MIC VOICE OF THE CARDINALS, DID
A NICE JOB AS EMCEE. IT WAS HIS BIRTHDAY AND THE AUDIENCE
JOINED IN SINGING HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO HIM.
IT WAS A GREAT EVENING, ATTENDED BY WELL OVER 100 RELATIVES AND
FRIENDS.
THE CARDINAL CROSS COUNTRY TEAM OF 1986 WAS ALSO INDUCTED IN THE
HALL OF FAME. TWO MEMBERS WERE NOT ABLE TO MAKE IT AND PARENTS
FILLED IN. SORRY, BUT I DID NOT GET A PHOTO OF THE TEAM AND
THEIR COACH, CURT NELSON.
THE CARDINALS LOST THEIR FOOTBALL GAME FRIDAY NIGHT AT GOODENOW
FIELD AND NOW ARE 0 AND 2 AND READY TO START DISTRICT PLAY

AT PLEASANT VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL. WOW JACOB, YOU LOOK NICE
AND SO DOES YOUR DATE. HIS MOM IS LONNA AT MAQUOKETA STATE
BANK WEST SIDE OFFICE. THEY LIVE IN BETTENDORF.
THE WEATHER CONTINUES TO BE BEAUTIFUL IN MAQUOKETA AND THE
