TO THE PRESS BOX OVER THE WEEKEND.
I DROVE PAST THE NEW SAVANNA TO SABULA BRIDGE FRIDAY AND TOOK
THIS PHOTO THROUGH THE CAR WINDOW. I WAS DRIVING ON THE OLD
BRIDGE OF COURSE AND THE MUCH LARGER NEW BRIDGE IS WAY ABOVE
THE OLD AND MUCH WIDER AND LARGER. IT IS ON SCHEDULE TO OPEN
IN NOVEMBER.
WE ATTENDED A QUAD CITY RIVER BANDITS GAME YESTERDAY AND SAW
THE TEAM WIN ANOTHER....DEFEATING BELOIT. NICE DAY BUT NOT A GOOD
CROWD FOR SOME REASON. MAYBE BECAUSE IT WAS THE LAST DAY
OF THE FAIR. ADDED THE LAST COUPLE YEARS, A CARNIVAL ON THE GROUNDS. FIRST RIDE BUILDT WAS THE FERRIS WHEEL AND THIS PHOTO TAKEN FROM IT OVERLOOKING THE PARK AND GAME IN PROGRESS. THERE ARE ABOUT 7 RIDES AND THEY WERE BUSY. GAME TICKETS START AT
AROUND $10 AND THE FERRIS WHEEL RIDE WAS $5. THIS VERY NICE STADIUM IS NEXT TO THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER. THE TEAM IS IN THE MIDWEST LEAGUE AND OTHER 3 IOWA TEAMS IN THE LEAGUE ARE IN CLINTON,
CEDAR RAPIDS AND BURLINGTON. WE HAD FUN AT THE BALLPARK.
