THERE IS A NEW LIGHT POLE WITH TWO LIGHTS RIGHT IN FRONT OF KMAQ.
I'M HAPPY ABOUT THAT. THEY PLACED THE POLE YESTERDAY AND TODAY THE ELECTRICIAN FROM DAVENPORT IS WIRING UP THE LIGHTS. IF THE
WEATHER DOESN'T GET TOO BAD THIS AFTERNOON, THESE 2 LIGHTS AND
OTHERS ON THE EAST SIDE OF MAIN WILL BE TURNED ON TONIGHT. THERE
ARE LOTS OF WIRES TO HOOK UP AT EACH POLE BASE. AND AS YOU CAN SEE ABOVE, THERE IS A RECESSED BOX IN THE SIDEWALK (NEXT TO EACH POLE) WITH MORE WIRING, ETC.
ABOVE, MATT NOTZ, THE NEW MAQUOKETA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
DIRECTOR (MANAGER) SPEAKING TO THE MAQUOKETA ROTARY CLUB
THIS AFTERNOON. THE CAR SALESMAN TURNED CHAMBER PERSON IS EXCITED ABOUT HIS NEW JOB. HIS WIFE IS A BEAUTICIAN AND SHE
OWNS THE SALON, "PURE", ON THE CORNER OF MAIN AND PLATT. THEY OWN THAT BUILDING AND UPSTAIRS THEY HAVE FIXED-UP RENTED TWO
APARTMENTS. THEY HAVE A 7 YEAR OLD SON.
THE BASKETBALL GAMES LAST NIGHT WERE POSTPONED BECAUSE OF
THE WEATHER. BAD FORECAST FOR TONIGHT AGAIN.
THERE WAS A SHOOTING MONDAY NIGHT IN A TRAILER COURT OFF EAST PLATT STREET. VICTIM IS IN SERIOUS CONDITION AT UNIVERSITY HOSPITALS AND THREE MEN WERE ARRESTED AND JAILED IN MAQUOKETA.
