AT THE VOY 2 THEATRE.    WE HAVE A 2 P.M. BARGAIN MATINEE OF ALL
3 MOVIES EVERY AFTERNOON.

"FERDINAND"  IS SHOWING NOW AT VOY THEATRE IN MAQUOKETA.   BUT, IT ENDS THURSDAY NIGHT.

STARTING THIS FRIDAY...."THE GREATEST SHOWMAN"...RATED PG

AND "STAR WARS" IS ON THROUGH THE HOLIDAY AT THE VOY 1 THEATRE.

PEANUT BUTTER CAME IN THIS MORNING AND WE ENDED UP WITH 216 JARS.
THIS AFTERNOON, JAKE BICKFORD CAME WITH HIS PICKUP AND ABOVE,
JAKE AND LOIS FISCHER OF KMAQ SALES DEPARTMENT PICKUP  UP
THE LAST JARS...
WITH HELP FROM ROXANNE CLAUSING ON LEFT, ALSO OF SALES DEPARTMENT AND RECEPTIONIST/BOOKKEEPER THERESA CELENTANO.
 JAKE  (HE IS A VOLUNTEER EVERY FRIDAY MORNING AT THE COMMUNITY CUPBOARD HELPING DISTRIBUTE THE FOOD ITEMS, TO ANYWHERE FROM
125 TO 175 PEOPLE) AND NEW PERSON IN CHARGE OF THE CUPBOARD,
BECKY SONSTAGARD, AT RIGHT.     THE 216 JARS FILLED THE PICKUP.
TOMORROW, THE JARS WILL BE INCLUDED WITH THE OTHER FRIDAY
GROCERIES. 
THANKS TO ALL THAT DONATED PEANUT BUTTER THE LAST 20 DAYS.
WE ENJOYED MEETING YOU.

 SACRED HEART KIDS WERE CAROLING TODAY AND STOPPED IN AT KMAQ
 TO SING ON THE RADIO.   AND THEY DID A NICE JOB.   THANKS.

BACK OF THE PRESENT DQ.     AND AS YOU CAN SEE, THE NEW WILL BE RIGHT BEHIND THE OLD.

 DR. BUDDY ATIENZA SPOKE AT ROTARY TODAY AND SO DID BOB GAVIN, PA VOICE OF THE CARDINALS.
THEY TOLD ABOUT THE $800,000 PLAN TO
MAKE GOODENOW FIELD THE BEST HIGH
SCHOOL FIELD IN THE CONFERENCE.  
OVER 70% OF FUNDING ALREADY IS RAISED.

THE NEW WALK-BIKE BRIDGE OVER MAQUOKETA RIVER AT NORTH EDGE OF
TOWN IS DONE.   NOT OPEN THOUGH.    BELOW, THE TRAIL THAT LEADS TO
IT ...AND THE TRAIL WILL EVENTUALLY END AT THE HURSTVILLE INTERPRETIVE CENTER.
WE TOOK MY 3 GREAT GRANDKIDS, CORA, TRENTON AND LANDON CLASEN, TO DUBUQUE SATURDAY NIGHT TO DRIVE THROUGH THE PARK WITH
ALL THE CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS.    ABOVE, DUBUQUE'S TOWER CLOCK.
HUGE CROWD AND A WAIT, BUT WORTH IT.   DRIVE ADMISSION COST $10 A CAR AND PROCEEDS GO TO HILLCREST FAMILY SERVICES.
PARK IS OPEN EVERY NIGHT FROM 5 UNTIL10 AND ENDS NEW YEAR'S DAY.



FRIDAY NIGHT, AT DEWITT, THE CARDINAL GIRLS LOST THEIR GAME TO THE
SABER GIRLS  AND THE BOYS BEAT THE SABERS.
SATURDAY, IN THE SABER INVITATIONAL WRESTLING MEET AT DEWITT,
THE CARDINALS PLACED 4TH.

JUMANJI  STARTS WEDNESDAY NIGHT AT THE VOY THEATRE.

MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS......ENDS TUESDAY (TOMORROW) NIGHT.

TONIGHT AT DEWITT.    GIRLS GAME AT 6 AND BOYS GAME AT 8.   BOTH
ON KMAQ, INCLUDING THE WEB HOME PAGE, STARTING AT 5:50 WITH
MATT CLARK AT THE PLAY-BY-PLAY MIC.
IN WRESTLING LAST NIGHT,  DYERSVILLE BECKMAN 66, MAQUOKETA 18 AND
WESTERN DUBUQUE 55 AND MAQUOKETA 15.

IN BOWLING LAST NIGHT, THE MAQUOKETA HIGH SCHOOL BOYS AND
GIRLS TEAMS DEFEATED MARION.


AT THE MAQUOKETA ARE EXPERIENCE LATE YESTERDAY AFTERNOON, WE
ENJOYED A ONE-HOUR BRASS CONCERT BY THE K2A3 BRASS TRIO
FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF IOWA MUSIC DEPARTMENT.    LEFT TO RIGHT:   KATEY HALBERT, KENKEN GORDER AND AUSTIN SEYBERT.

THE HILL JUST COMPLETED ON EAST PLATT STREET.   NEAT IDEA.

THIS WAS ONE - HALF THE COOKIES ON SALE TUESDAY NIGHT AT THE
JACKSON COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY SOUP SUPPER AND COOKIE WALK
AT THE CLINTON ENGINES MUSEUM.    BIG TURNOUT AGAIN FOR THE
VARIETY OF DELICIOUS SOUPS ... AND CHRISTMAS CAROLS TOO.

TWO LARGE TREES DOWNTOWN THIS YEAR....THE ONE AT THE POST OFFICE
(PHOTO A COUPLE DAYS AGO HERE)....AND THIS ONE NEXT TO SANTA'S
HOUSE IN THE "GREEN SPACE" WHERE THE 4 LARGE BUILDINDGS WERE
10 YEARS AGO.   THE 10TH ANNIVERSARY OF THAT FIRE WILL BE ON
JANUARY 19TH, NEXT MONTH.

JAMES DOEPKE SPOKE AT ROTARY TODAY.   HE IS THE NEW MCHS GIRLS
BASKETBALL COACH.    THE GIRLS ARE OFF TO A GOOD START.
FRIDAY NIGHT THEY PLAY AT DEWITT AT 6 P.M. AND THE GAME WILL BE ON
KMAQ AM-FM AND OUR WEB HOME PAGE.    THE BOYS GAME WILL
START AROUND 7:30 AND WILL ALSO BE BROADCAST ON KMAQ WITH MATT
CLARK AT THE PLAY-BY-PLAY MIC.

THE NEW WRESTLING COACH ALSO SPOKE TODAY.    BRENDAN SCHOTT
WAS  HAPPY TO TALK ABOUT WINNING THE DWIGHT ZIMMERMAN
TOURNAMENT LAST SATURDAY IN MAQUOKETA, WITH 6  CHAMPIONS.
THE CARDINAL GRAPPLERS ARE ALSO OFF TO A GOOD START.

LAST NIGHT, THE CARDINAL GIRLS DEFEATED WEST DELAWARE 62 TO
51 AND NOW HAVE A 5 AND 3 RECORD.
THE  BOYS LOST TO WEST DELEWARE 71 TO 41 AND ARE 1 AND 6 FOR
THE SEASON.

THE BOWLING TEAMS BOWLED WESTERN DUBUQUE LAST NIGHT.
THE BOYS WON 3069 TO 2836 AND THE GIRLS LOST BY ONLY 54 PINS.

NEW BUSINESS ON EAST PLATT STREET, ADJACENT TO THE AWESOME
CAR WASH.    STILL TWO WASH BAYS LEFT TO USE.    TWO BAYS ELIMINATED
AND NOW USED FOR FROG'S AUTO SALES.    THE USED AUTOS ARE
IN THE BACK PARKING LOT.    REMEMBER, YOU CAN CLICK-ON THIS
PHOTO TO ENLARGE IT.    I HAVE NO DETAILS ON WHO IS OWNER OF THIS
BUSINESS AND WILL LET YOU KNOW WHEN I FIND OUT.

GREEN JELL.     AREN'T THEY CUTE?    DELICIOUS TOO.

MAQUOKETA HAS HAD A SUMMER-SEASON DQ FOR OVER 60 YEARS.
A NEW ONE IS COMING NEXT YEAR AND WILL BE OPEN YEAR AROUND WITH
47 SEATING.     OWNER DOUG BIEHL TOLD KMAQ THE NEW ONE WILL BE BUILDT BEHIND THE PRESENT ONE  AND THE OLD WILL OPEN AS USUAL
IN MARCH AND WILL STAY OPEN UNTIL THE NEW ONE IS READY TO OPEN, NEXT SPRING OR EARLY SUMMER.  

THE KMAQ CHRISTMAS DINNER-PARTY WAS HELD LAST NIGHT.   AFTER A
GREAT DINNER AT "THE PUB CLUB" IN LOST NATION, EVERYONE CAME TO
OUR HOUSE WHERE NANCY  WAS READY FOR DESSERT.   BUT FIRST, THE
GIFT EXCHANGE AND THEN A SURPRIZE SONG BY THE SALES GALS,
LOIS FISCHER, ROXANN CLAUSING AND DEBRA GERARDY AND HER HUSBAND JIM.    CLICK-ON BUTTON ABOVE AND ENJOY.
