NANCY AND I DIDN'T MAKE THE BAND CONCERT AS WE ATTENDED THE 50TH
WEDDING ANNIVERSARY OF DAVE AND MARGE MOORE. ALSO UP TO MADISON FOR THE CELEBRATION FROM MAQUOKETA, JIM AND CAROL ROUND. DAVE (RETIRED) WAS BORN AND RAISED IN MAQUOKETA, SON OF MR. AND MRS. BIRD MOORE. HE HAD TWO BROTHERS, JAKE AND BOB, BOTH DECEASED. MARGE WAS FROM MARYLAND (THEY MET WHILE DAVE WAS IN THE SERVICE) AND THEY HAVE A DAUGHTER, TWO SONS, AND 7 GRANDCHILDREN.
NO DRIVING DOWN MAIN STREET THESE DAYS.
AGAIN THIS PAST WEEKEND, LOTS OF KIDS WERE AT THE 61 DRIVE-IN
SOUTH OF MAQUOKETA. BEFORE THE SHOW STARTS, THERE IS PLENTY
TO DO, INCLUDING RIDING THE FREE TRAIN, SWINGING, PLAYING IN
THE SANDBOX (AT FAR END OF SWINGS) PLAYING (NEW) WITH OUR
TEATHERBALL (ON THIS END OF SWINGS) AND AT THE BACK OF THE
PARKING RAMPS, PLAYING VOLLEYBALL. AND IF NOT PLAYING, EATING-
TAILGATING STYLE, AT THE FRONT OF THEIR CAR. PARENTS LOVE THE
DRIVE-IN BECAUSE..... NO BABYSITTERS, BRINGING FOOD FROM HOME,
TWO HIT MOVIES FOR ONE LOW ADMISSION, AND QUALITY TIME WITH
THE KIDS OR GRANDKIDS. TRY IT SOMETIME AND YOU'LL BE HOOKED!
