AFTER SPRINGLIKE WEEKEND WEATHER, WE ARE BACK TO WINTER CONDITIONS. WINDY AND COLD YESTERDAY AND TODAY. WE WERE
EXPECTING 3-INCHES OF SNOW LAST NIGHT, BUT IT WENT TO THE NORTH
OF US. WE DID GET A HALF-INCH THIS MORNING AND THE REST OF TODAY
WAS PARTLY SUNNY AND COOL. NOW, WE ARE TO GET 3 INCHES
WEDNESDAY NIGHT. BY THE WEEKEND, WE WILL BE BACK IN THE 40'S AND
NEXT WEEK, EVEN WARMER.
THE GIRL'S STATE TOURNAMENT IS THIS WEEK AND WE HAVE NO TEAM
THERE. THE BOY'S STATE TOURNAMENT IS NEXT WEEK AND EASTON VALLEY LOST OVER THE WEEKEND, THEIR SUBSTATE GAME, SO THEY
WON'T BE GOING TO STATE. WE WILL HAVE NO KMAQ-AREA TEAM THERE, BUT ANAMOSA AND CASCADE WON THEIR SUBSTATE GAMES AND ARE GOING. TEAMS TO CHEER FOR.
"CABARET" AT THE OHNWARD FINE ARTS CENTER THIS PAST WEEKEND
WAS A BIG HIT. AROUND 800 CAME TO SEE IT, CONSIDERED GOOD.
JOHN AND JANET BURROW DIRECTED A GREAT SHOW. THE BAND
(UP ON BACK WALL OF SET, ELEVATED),THE SINGERS, DANCERS, ALL LOOKED LIKE PROS.....IT IS ALWAYS AMAZING THAT WE HAVE SUCH TALENTED PEOPLE IN OUR LITTLE RURAL IOWA TOWN. THE SHOW WAS
A GREAT WAY TO START OFF THE YEAR-LONG CELEBRATION OF THE
50TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE "PEACE PIPE PLAYERS" LITTLE THEATRE
GROUP.
BOTH MOVIES START FRIDAY NIGHT HERE.
SHORT REPORT AGAIN...SORRY. WE ARE SHORT TWO STAFF MEMBERS ..
SO DAYS ARE ESPECIALLY LONG. RUSTY STILL IN HOSPITAL AND WE
HAVE A NEW NEWS DIRECTOR STARTING MONDAY.
