THIS OLD MAQUOKETA PHOTO (AROUND 1920 I GUESS) WAS TAKEN
ON SOUTH MAIN STREET. THE THREE-STORY BUILDING I NOW OWN AND
THE VOY 3 THEATRE IS IN IT. THERE IS A BEAUTY SHOP ON GROUND FLOOR
AND I HAVE 3 APARTMENTS ON THE 2ND FLOOR. THE TOP FLOOR IS
EMPTY INCLUDING A LARGE MEETING ROOM WHERE THE "RAINBOW GIRLS" HELD THEIR MEETINGS. YOU GET TO BOTH FLOORS WITH A LONG STAIRWAY. LOT OF HISTORY IN THAT BUILDING. WHERE THE BEAUTY SHOP IS NOW, IN THE 50'S WAS THE "CHIEF THEATRE". NOTE: THE MARCHERS
ARE REALLY OUT OF STEP.
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IS PREDICTING 8 INCHES OF SNOW
FOR MAQUOKETA NEXT TUESDAY BUT DON'T LET THAT STOP YOU
FROM COMING WEDNESDAY TO THE FARM AND HOME SHOW.
