THE MAQUOKETA SCHOOL BOARD MEETS IN A WORK SESSION MONDAY AT WHICH TIME THEY WILL GIVE CONSIDERATION FOR MAKING PLANS FOR AN APRIL 2016 BOND REFERENDUM IN THE RANGE OF 12 TO 15 MILLION
DOLLARS FOR IMPROVING AND ADDING-ON TO THE MAQUOKETA MIDDLE
SCHOOL.
DAVE SCHEPERS REPORTED TO LAW ENFORCEMENT YESTERDAY THAT
A BOAT, MOTOR AND TRAILER ARE MISSING FROM HIS RESIDENCE
ON 13TH STREET, JUST SOUTHEAST OF MAQUOKETA. SCHEPERS IS
NOT SURE WHEN IT WAS TAKEN AS IT WAS PARKED ACROSS THE ROAD
FROM HIS RESIDENCE. THE MOTOR WAS A 15HP MODEL AND TOTAL
VALUE OF WHAT IS MISSING HAS A VALUE OF $1,100.
A CAR-DEER ACCIDENT MONDAY NIGHT ON HIGHWAY 62, NEAR THE
BRIDGEPORT CANOE ACCESS NORTHEAST OF MAQUOKETA. JOHN MANNING STRUCK THE DEER AND THERE WAS DAMAGE DONE TO THE FRONT END
OF HIS VEHICLE, BUT IT AS DRIVEABLE.
CLUB hOpe FROM MAQUOKETA HIGH SCHOOL WILL COLLECT CANNED FOOD
FOR THE FOOD PANTRY FROM 4 UNTIL 5:30 THIS SUNDAY. THERE WILL BE TEAMS AND THE TEAM THAT COLLECTS THE MOST CANNED GOODS WILL WIN A PIZZA PARTY AT THE HIGH SCHOOL THE FOLLOWING WEEK.
