CLOVER RIDGE ASSISTED LIVING HAD A VETERAN'S DAY PROGRAM THIS AFTERNOON WITH A FULLHOUSE IN THEIR GREAT ROOM.
SALLY DAVIES, ACTIVITIES DIRECTOR, STAGED THE HALF-HOUR EVENT, WITH HELP FROM THE VFW AND AUXILIARY. IT WAS TO THANK EIGHT
VETERAN RESIDENTS. I TOOK SOME PICTURES.....

VIVIAN MILLER, A RESIDENT OF CLOVER RIDGE,
WAS RECOGNIZED FOR BEING A VFW AUXILIARY
MEMBER FOR 70 YEARS.
VIVIAN AND HER HUSBAND CURLY FOR MANY YEARS RAN THE POPULAR "CURLY'S SOUTH INN" ON SOUTH MAIN IN MAQUOKETA. SHE'S SHARP AND 94 AND REMEMBERED THAT I CAME IN OFTEN
IN THE LATE 50'S AND EARLY 60'S FOR EVENING DINNER WITH THE FIRST OWNER OF KMAQ, NATE GOETZ, FROM MONROE, WISCONSIN. AT RIGHT, FOR SOME REASON OUT-OF-FOCUS, IS PAT SCHNOOR, VFW AUXILIARY PRESIDENT. HER
HUSBAND ROGER IS THE VFW COMMANDER AND
BOTH HAVE BEEN ACTIVE IN THE VFW FOR MANY
YEARS.
COFFEE AND COOKIES WERE SERVED AFTER THE PROGRAM.
AT THE MAQUOKETA ROTARY MEETING THIS NOON, RED HENTON GAVE THE PROGRAM ON THIS
YEARS IN WW2. HE'S 95 NOW.
