YESTERDAY AFTERNOON, AROUND 4, IT RAINED HARD IN MAQUOKETA
AND WE GOT OVER 2-INCHES.
TODAY, CLOUDY, WINDY AND COLD..A HIGH OF JUST 66.
TOMORROW, SUNNY AND 76.
FRIDAY, SUNNY AND 81.
SATURDAY, SUNNY AND 82.
YESTERDAY, I DID NOT DO A DAILY REPORT BECAUSE OF THE KMAQ
BUS TO THE STATE FAIR. IT RAINED A LOT THERE TOO, SO MOST OF
THE TIME, WE WERE CHECKING ON INDOOR EXHIBITS.
DID TAKE A PHOTO OF THIS YEAR'S BUTTER COW....
IT IS BEHIND GLASS IN A REFRIGERATED AREA AND THERE IS A LINE TO
LOOK AT IT ALL THE TIMES
A BIRTH: A BOY BORN JULY 29TH TO BRETT TRACY AND JACOB BAUGHMAN OF DEWITT. MATERNAL GRANDPARENTS ARE JASON AND JESS TRACY OF MAQUOKETA. GREAT-GRANDPARENTS ARE JC AND DARLENE COX OF

MEDIACOM HAS INFORMED MAQUOKETA THAT KWWL-TV IN WATERLOO WILL BE TAKEN OFF THE MAQUOKETA CABLE-TV BECAUSE MAQUOKETA HAS
NBC SERVICE THROUGH KWQC IN DAVENPORT.
LOTS OF PAINTING GOING ON IN DOWNTOWN MAQUOKETA, INCLUDING
THE BACK OF THE VOY THEATRE, PAINTED LAST WEEK. I'M SURE
ALL THE APARTMENTS BEHIND WILL LIKE THE NEW WHITE LOOK.
BEFORE 1973, THE LOW PART WAS THE BACK OF A DRY CLEANING
ESTABLISHMENT AND THE HIGH PART, THE BACK OF THE IH TRACTOR
DEALERSHIP. SO, AFTER 40 PLUS YEARS, PAINTING WAS NEEDED.
THE MAQUOKETA PUBLIC LIBRARY HAS MET THE CONDITIONS FOR STATE ACCREDITATION, THROUGH JUNE 30, 2018. OF IOWA'S 544 PUBLIC
LIBRARIES, 351, INCLUDING MAQUOKETA, ARE ACCREDITED.
