ANOTHER NICE, NO RAIN, DAY...PT. SUNNY AND MID TO UPPER 70'S. RAIN TONIGHT AND TOMORROW, BUT DRY FRIDAY AND SATURDAY.
SPORTS:
THE MAQUOKETA GIRLS SOFTBALL TEAM LAST NIGHT WON BOTH GAMES
OF A DOUBLE-HEADER, DEFEATING INDEPENDENCE 16 TO 0 AND 10 TO 2.
IN FIRST GAME, CASSIE RUPPERT THREW A NO-HITTER AND STRUCK OUT
10 BATTERS. IN THE SECOND GAME, LIZ GAVIN WENT 3 FOR 4 WITH
4 RBI'S.
THE MAQUOKETA BOYS LOST A DOUBLEHEADER TO DYERSVILLE
BECKMAN, 13 TO 0 AND 9 TO 2.
A MAQUOKETA MAN SHOT A 65 LAST WEEK AT THE MAQUOKETA COUNTRY CLUB. HE'S A FORMER PRO. READ ABOUT HIM ON THE ROTARY

LUCKY KIDS! THE EASTON VALLEY SCHOOL BOARD, MEETING AT PRESTON, HAS APPROVED A TRIP NEXT JUNE FOR THE BAND AND CHORUS, TO
DISNEYLAND. IT IS ESTAMATED THE COST WILL BE ABOUT $900 PER STUDENT BUT THE COST CAN BE OFFSET BY FUNDRAISING. THEY
WILL PERFORM DOWN THERE TOO.

A BIRTH: ROXANNE (ON SALES STAFF HERE AT KMAQ) AND MIKE CLAUSING
ARE THE PARENTS OF ANOTHER GRANDCHILD BORN THIS MORNING AT 5:30 A.M. TO THEIR DAUGHTER NICOLE AND HUSBAND GREG IN CLARION HOSPITAL. THEY ACTUALLY LIVE AT BELMON, ABOUT 15 MINUTES AWAY.
TWO BROTHERS ALSO WELCOME LITTLE CORA RENEE, WHO WEIGHS 8 POUNDS AND IS 20 INCHES LONG.
CONGRATULATIONS TO MOM, DAD, GRANDMA AND GRANDPA.

DINNER AND PROGRAM. TONY PORTZ OF SPRINGBROOK AREA CONDUCTED THE MEETING. HE IS NOW IN HIS SECOND AND FINAL YEAR AS
PRESIDENT.
