FORMER ANDREW SUPERINTENDENT SARAH PINION WILL RETIRE AT THE
END OF THIS SCHOOL YEAR, THE END OF 6 YEARS AS THE TOP PERSON
AT MARION.   HER HUSBAND DAN IS A RETIRED HIGH SCHOOL ART TEACHER AT MAQUOKETA HIGH SCHOOL.

THE FRIENDS OF JACKSON COUNTY CONSERVATION IN MAQUOKETA IS THE RECIPIENT OF THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR INTERPRETATION "EXCELLENCE IN INTERPRETIVE SUPPORT AWARD".     THE AWARD CAME ABOUT BECAUSE OF THE FRIENDS (IN 2012 AND 2013)  PART IN RENOVATING
THE FRONT LANDSCAPE AT THE HURSTVILLE INTERPRETIVE CENTER.

THE MAQUOKETA STATE BANK ANNOUNCED TODAY THAT IOWA PUBLIC TV

AT THEIR ANNUAL AGRICULTURAL UPDATE MEETING AT CENTERSTONE

STATE SENATOR TOD BOWMAN OF MAQUOKETA WAS JOINED BY HIS FAMILY AT THE IOWA STATEHOUSE WHEN HE TOOK THE OATH OF OFFICE FOR HIS  SECOND 4-YEAR TERM IN THE IOWA SENTATE.   FROM LEFT, BEAU BOWMAN,
ADDIE BOWMAN, SENATOR BOWMAN, LEVI BOWMAN AND RENEE BOWMAN.

SEAN REITER AND ASHLEY STARR OF MAQUOKETA ARE THE PARENTS OF
A GIRL, BORN AT 10:08 THIS MORNING AT A DAVENPORT HOSPITAL.
LEIA CAROL REITER WEIGHED 7 POUNDS, 11 OUNCES.   HER MOM ASHLEY IS THE AFTERNOON ANNOUNCER HERE AT KMAQ.   MOM AND BABY LEIA ARE DOING GREAT.

SPORTS:   THE MAQUOKETA GIRLS AND BOYS TEAMS TRAVEL TO MANCHESTER TONIGHT FOR WAMAC ACTION WITH WEST DELAWARE.
