THURSDAY DAILY REPORT

REALLY NICE AGAIN TODAY...SUNNY,  A LITTLE BREEZE AND HIGH OF 80.
SOME RAIN IN THE FORECAST TOMORROW THROUGH SUNDAY.
HOPEFULLY, NOT ENOUGH TO SPOIL THE MANY THINGS GOING ON IN THE
KMAQ AEA.

JACKSON COUNTY ENGINEER CLARK SCHLOZ REPORTED THIS WEEK THAT
JACKSON COUNTY SUFFERED ABOUT $100,000 IN THE MOST RECENT
STORMS.   A BRIDGE ON A CLASS B ROAD WAS DESTROYED WITH ONLY THE DECK LEFT.
ALSO AT THE SUPERVISORS MEETING THIS WEEK, SANITARIAN FRANK FRIEBERG SAID THE NEW WASTEWATER PROGRAM AT LEISURE LAKE IS COMPLETE WITH 310 CONNECTIONS.    HE SAID IT IS NOW THE 4TH LARGEST SEWER SYSTEM IN THE COUNTY AND THE MOST MODERN ONE.
ANOTHER BUSINESS OF THE PAST IN DOWNTOWN
MAQUOKETA....CINEMA MOVIE RENTALS JUST LEFT
OF THEATRE.    I STARTED AS THE ICE CREAM SHOPPE
THERE IN 1981.   LATER IT BECAME A GAME ROOM AND
THEN THE MOVIE RENTALS STORE.    IT HAS BEEN JUST A
STORAGE AREA FOR SEVERAL YEARS,  BUT I HAVE
NOW RENTED IT AND A NEW BEAUTY SHOP WILL OPEN
LATER THIS MONTH.   MORE ON IT LATER.    THE
2ND FLOOR HAS 3 APARTMENTS THAT I RECENTLY
REMODLED AND THE TOP STORY, ONE LARGE ROOM,
IS EMPTY.   FOR MANY YEARS IT WAS A LODGE HALL.
THE CORNER BUILDING WAS THE PECKOSH LAW
OFFICE FOR A LONG TIME AND NOW IS THE LOCATION
FOR "HOME INSTEAD" A SENIOR CARE BUSINESS.

THIS PEACE PIPE PLAYERS/OHNWARD FINE ARTS COUNTRY MUSICAL WILL
BE THIS FRIDAY AND SATURDAY NIGHT AT 7 AND  SUNDAY AFTERNOON AT 2.

SEE YOU ON THE RADIO.
