YESTERDAY, FOR A FEW HOURS, JACKSON COUNTY WAS THE ONLY COUNTY IN EASTERN IOWA TO BE UNDER A TORNADO WATCH. BUT, THANK GOODNESS, THE BAD WEATHER MOVED EASTERLY AND YOU MAY HAVE
HEARD TODAY THAT WASHINGTON, ILLINOIS WAS THE HARDEST HIT
BY A TORNADO.
TODAY HERE IN MAQUOKETA, SUNNY, WINDY AND COLD...HIGH OF 40.
WE WILL BE IN THE 40'S MOST OF THE WEEK.
ATTORNEY TOM BREUCH OF MAQUOKETA ANNOUNCED HIS RETIREMENT SATURDAY IN A NEWSPAPER AD. HE SOLD HIS PRACTICE TO A CLINTON FIRM. HE WILL RETIRE AFTER 42 YEARS, DECEMBER 31ST. HE SERVED THE COMMUNITY WELL AS AN ATTORNEY, AND WAS A LONGTIME BOARD MEMBER OF THE MAQUOKETA PUBLIC LIBRARY.
THE REV. KENT ANDERSON WILL BE LEAVING AS THE PRIEST FOR ST.
MARK'S EPISCOPAL CHURCH IN MAQUOKETA. HE HAS BEEN WITH THE CHURCH FOR 3 YEARS, COMING FROM DUBUQUE WHERE HE LIVES.
HE HAS WORKED AT THE MAQUOKETA CHURCH THE SECOND AND FOURTH
SUNDAY OF EACH MONTH. ANDERSON AND HIS WIFE AND THREE
CHILDREN WILL CONTINUE TO LIVE IN DUBUQUE AND HE WILL CONTINUE
TO SERVE AT ST. JOHN'S EPISCOPAL CHURCH IN DUBUQUE.
HIS REPLACEMENT IN MAQUOKETA WILL BE FATHER BOB NORTH WHO WILL JOIN THE CHURCH NEXT MONTH AND PREACH EACH SUNDAY MORNING.
MARY CLARK OF BELLEVUE, AGE 90, DIED NOVEMBER 12TH AT MILL VALLEY CARE CENTER IN BELLEVUE. THERE WILL BE PRIVATE FAMILY SERVICES.
SHE WORKED AT CLINTON ENGINES FOR MANY YEARS. SHE IS
SURVIVED BY TWO SONS, GARY AND LARRY CLARK OF MAQUOKETA....ALSO 3 GRANDCHILDREN. HACHMANN FUNERAL HOME IN BELLEVUE IS
ASSISTING THE FAMILY.
NANCY AND I LEAVE FOR BRANSON (ESCORTING THE KMAQ TRAVEL
BUS) EARLY IN THE MORNING AND WILL RETURN FRIDAY NIGHT.
