THE JACKSON COUNTY SUPERVISORS HAVE APPROVED A FLOOR
PLAN FOR THE PENROSE HOME COURTHOUSE ANNEX. THE NEXT
STEP IS FOR THE F-E-H ARCHITECTS TO BRING BACK A LAYOUT AND
ESTIMATED COST. THEY HAVE GIVEN THE ARCHITECTS A $300,000
BUDGET. THE HOME WAS PURCHASED FOR $200,000.
THE NEW PLAN DOES NOT CALL FOR AN ADDITION TO THE HOME
AND, PARKING WILL BE IN THE FRONT . THERE WILL BE HANDICAPED
PARKING IN THE BACK.
LAST NIGHT THE MAQUOKETA CITY COUNCIL AGREED TO PAY $5,000
FOR A FEASIBILITY SURVEY FOR AN OUTDOOR POOL FOR MAQUOKETA.
MAQUOKETA POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING A PERSONAL ROBBERY.
REPORTS INDICATE SEVERAL PEOPLE WERE INVOLVED AT 5:45 YESTERDAY AFTERNOON AT 504 EAST PLATT STREET. THE REPORT SAYS FOUR PEOPLE WERE IN A VEHICLE AND THREE GOT OUT AND ASSAULTED A MALE.
NO FURTHER INFORMATION WAS AVAILABLE TODAY.
ARLIS KRABBENHOFT, AGE 75, OF MAQUOKETA, DIED YESTERDAY
AT THE MAQUOKETA CARE CENTER. HER FUNERAL WILL BE FRIDAY AT 10:30 A.M. AT THE MILLER LAW JONES FUNERAL HOME IN PRESTON.
SURVIVORS INCLUDE THREE DAUGHTER, PAM FELLER OF MAQUOKETA,
BRENDA BARTELS OF MAQUOKETA AND LORI HOUSTON OF DELMAR.
THREE SONS, 12 GRANDCHILDREN, 4 BROTHERS AND 3 SISTERS, INCLUDING DIANNE BARKER OF MAQUOKETA.
DAVID HEIAR IS THE NEW ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR FOR
THE COUNTY. THE NATIVE OF JACKSON COUNTY WAS GUEST SPEAKER

MORNING. HE IS A FORMER CITY MANAGER AT BELLEVUE AND
