AT THE DELMAR DEPOT AND PARK. IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE BETTER THAN LAST YEAR WITH MORE PARTICIPANTS. LOTS OF THINGS GOING ON DURING THE DAY, WITH THE BIG BATTLE AT 3 SATURDAY AFTERNOON AND 2 SUNDAY AFTERNOON. THE DELMAR FIRE DEPARTMENT WILL HAVE A FOOD STAND
IN THE PARK PAVALION. PROCEEDS GO TO THE DEPOT AND IT RIGHT
NOW IS IN NEED OF OUTSIDE PAINTING OF THE BUILDING.
ON THE POLICE BLOTTER....ARLO YAROLEM REPORTED A BURGLARY AT HIS HOME ON WEST GROVE, YESTERDAY MORNING. ABOUT $200 IN CASH AND COINS TAKEN. ENTRY WAS GAINED AFTER A GLASS IN A WINDOW WAS BROKEN.
DEE EWING IS THE NEW SIGHT MANAGER AT THE JACKSON COUNTY
SENIOR CENTER IN MAQUOKETA. SHE HAS BEEN WORKING AT THE CENTER FOR THE PAST TWO YEARS. SHE REPLACES AMY MANNING WHO IS NOW
THE DIRECTOR OF ADULT DAY CARE AT THE CENTER.
TOMORROW IS FOOTBALL FRIDAY.

WE USED A CHRISTMAS GIFT CERTIFICATE YESTERDAY AND TOOK A 4-HOUR CRUISE ON THE MIGHTY MISSISSIPPI RIVER, OUT OF DUBUQUE. BEAUTIFUL SCENERY, GOOD MUSIC AND FOOD....A RELAXING DAY. WE SPENT MOST OF THE TIME ON THE UPPER DECK, TAKING IN THE RIVER AND SHORE SCENERY.
THE BOAT IS OWNED BY JOE SHADLER AND HE WAS ON THE CRUISE....HIS 28TH YEAR OF OWNERSHIP. ALWAYS INTERESTING GOING THROUGH THE LOCK AND DAM TOO. HAD A GOOD TIME WITH BEAUTIFUL WEATHER.
