JANUARY OF 2011. PASTOR JUDY HEINRICH WILL REMAIN AT FIRST LUTHERAN
AS ASSOCIATE PASTOR.
OVER 500 ATTENDED THE "DANCING WITH THE CARDS" EVENT SATURDAY NIGHT AT THE HIGH SCHOOL, SPONSORED BY THE MAQUOKETA ATHLETIC
BOOSTER CLUB. ABOUT $3,000 WAS RAISED. FIRST PLACE WAS WON
BY ASHLEY WING AND HIGH SCHOOL JUNIOR JAKE HOPSON. WING IS
THE SECRETARY AT CARDINAL SCHOOL.
SECOND PLACE WENT TO CHANCE JENKINS AND HIGH SCHOOL SOPHOMORE
ASHLEY BECKER.
BRIELLE REICKS AND HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR PERRY HAWKS TOOK HOME
THE THIRD PLACE TROPHY.
THE PEOPLE CHOICE AWARD WENT TO THE FATHER-DAUGHTER TEAM OF
CHRIS AND TESS NISSEN.
MISS IOWA, JESSICA PRAY WAS A SPECIAL GUEST AND SANG THE NATIONAL ANTHEM AND A SONG AT INTERMISSION. RON BURNETT OF BURNETT-THIEL FORD IN MAQUOKETA PRESENTED THE BOOSTERS WITH A CHECK FOR $6,000....THE MONEY RAISED LAST FALL IN THE FORD "DRIVE-ONE FOR YOUR SCHOOL EVENT".
