IT IS A BEAUTIFUL DAY IN EASTERN IOWA....PERFECT DAY FOR THE KMAQ
FARM AND HOME SHOW.
WE HAVE HAD A VERY GOOD TURNOUT SO FAR AND WILL BE OPEN UNTIL
7:30 TONIGHT AT THE FAIRGROUNDS IN MAQUOKETA....COME ON DOWN.
IT'S FREE AND HAVE SUPPER TONIGHT AT OUR BARGAIN FOOD BAR...
IT IS BEEF DAY....FEATURING BURGERS OFF THE GRILL BY THE CATTLEMEN.

THE OPTIMIST CLUB HAS A BOOTH AND THERE'S A PHOTO OF MEMBERS
OWEN THORSON AND GALEN BARTELS.
BERNIE KLUESNER OF NEW VIENNA HAS ON DISPLAY HIS AWARD WINNING
WOOD FARM TRACTORS AND MACHINERY THAT HE HAS BUILDT DURING
HIS 20 YEARS OF RETIREMENT. UNBELIEVABLE WORKMANSHIP USING A
VARIETY OF WOOD. HIS HOBBIE HAS WON HIM BIG AWARDS AT THE IOWA STATE FAIR THE LAST FEW YEARS. THERE ARE TWO PHOTOS BELOW AND IS
WIFE INEZ IS IN EITHER OR BOTH.
SCHUELLER AND SONS RECONSTRUCTION HAS A BOOTH AND I TOOK A PICTURE OF TOM (ALSO RUNNING FOR STATE REPRESENTATIVE) AND DON FARRELL
OF DELMAR. TOM HAS BEEN A STATE REPRESENTATIVE BEFORE AND IS
RUNNING AGAIN.

ROBERT CHRISTENSEN, A VOLUNTEER AT THE MAQUOKETA COMMUNITY
CUPBOARD, TOOK THESE THREE PHOTOS TODAY AT THE NEW LOCATION
OF THE CUPBOARD, ON WEST PLATT STREET, IN THE FORMER ALDI'S FOOD
STORE BUILDING. THE CUPBOARD TAKES UP ABOUT HALF OF THE BUILDING
AND DAC, INC. THE OTHER HALF. FREE PARKING OUT FRONT. NO STEPS.
ROBERT SAYS THEY ARE READY FOR OPENING DAY THIS FRIDAY, WHEN
THE DOORS OPEN AT 9 A.M. AND REMAIN OPEN UNTIL 11. THOSE COMING
FOR GROCERIES FIRST SIGN-UP AT THE ENTRY. THERE WILL BE SEVERAL
VOLUNTEERS ON HAND TO HELP WITH THE DISTRIBUTION AND THEY WILL
BE DIRECTED BY THE MANAGER OF THE CUPBOARDD, GARY EGGERS, SHOWN
ABOVE. ALSO, SEE A PHOTO OF PART OF THE LARGER FACILITY. A LOT MORE ROOM THAT AT THE FORMER LOCATION.
ALSO OPENING DAY FRIDAY, THE SCOTTISH RITE WILL BE ON HAND TO
PRESENT A CHEKC FOR $1,500 TO THE CUPBOARD, A VERY NICE DONATION.
SCOTTISH RITE ALSO GAVE $1,500 TO THE BENEVOLENT ASSOCIATION MONDAY
EVENING AND WILL BE PRESENTING A CHECK ALSO THIS WEEK TO THE DUBUQUE COMMUNITY CUBOARD. THERE CHECKS WILL BE A NICE BOOST TO ALL 3 COMMUNITIES.
