SUNNY AND 54 TODAY.
BROKE THE 51 RECORD OF 96 YEARS AGO.
NICE TOMORROW, BUT NOT QUITE AS WARM.
QUITE A FEW PLAYED GOLF THIS AFTERNOON IN MAQUOKETA, INCLUDING
JAKE BICKFORD. JAKE AND JUDY HAVE RENTED A PLACE IN ARIZONA
(A BROTHER LIVES THERE) FOR A ONE MONTH STAY NEXT MONTH AND AT
COFFEE WE KID HIM ABOUT LEAVING THIS WARM CLIMATE.
ARIZONA, THAT TERRIBLY DRY STATE WHERE RON AND SHIRLEY MILLER
LIVE AND ALSO MAX MOELLER.
WONDER HOW PAT AND JOAN COSTELLO ARE DOING DOWN THERE SINCE
MOVING FROM MAQUOKETA.
AAAAHHH...THE FOUR SEASONS WITH A MILD WINTER...THE BEST.
THE MAQUOKETA SCHOOL BOARD DECIDED THIS WEEK NOT TO REPLACE
A CUSTODIAN WHO RETIRED IN NOVEMBER. SUPT. KIM HUCKSTADT ASKED
THE BOARD NOT TO RE-HIRE THE POSITION. JIM MANDERSHEID RETIRED
AS THE CUSTODIAN AT CARDINAL ELEMENTARY. BOARD PRESIDENT BRIAN
TABOR SAID THE DISTRICT HAS CUT $1 MILLION OUT OF ITS BUDGET IN THE LAST THREE YEARS, BUT HAD NOT REDUCED CUSTODIANS AND SAID IT
IS THE ONLY DEPARTMENT WHICH HAD NOT BEEN AFFECTED UNTIL NOW.
AND NOW THAT SOMEONE HAS RETIRED, IT IS A GOOD TIME TO MAKE A
CUT FROM THAT DEPARTMENT. DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS MIKE WING
WILL WORK WITH EACH SCHOOL BUILDING TEAM TO REALIGN DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES.
THE MAQUOKETA WRESTLERS GET BACK INTO ACTION FOLLOWING THE
HOLIDAY BREAK, IN A DOUBLE-DUAL AT SOLON TONIGHT.
THE IOWA HAWKEYE MEN HAVE WON TWO IN A ROW....ON THE ROAD....
HOW ABOUT THAT? FIRST WISCONSIN AND LAST NIGHT MINNESOTA.
AS MANY OF YOU KNOW, I WAS BORN AND RAISED IN WISCONSIN AND ATTENDED THE UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN FOR AWHILE.
AFTER THE WISCONSIN LOSS TO OREGON IN THE ROSE BOWL GAME.....
I GOT AN EMAIL FROM AN OLD ARMY BUDDY IN OREGON A FEW MINUTES
AFTER THE GAME, SIMPLY SAYING...
"OFF WISCONSIN"
THANKS FOR CHECKING IN AGAIN.
