GOOD MORNING!

IT IS A BEAUTIFUL MORNING IN MAQUOKETA!

AND, A CALM MORNING, COMPARED TO YESTERDAY.

I DROVE NORTH BY THE MAQUOKETA RIVER ABOUT AN HOUR AGO, AND
IT IS WAY OVER ITS BANKS ALRIGHT......BUT ALL OVERFLOW IS ON
SURRONDING FARM LAND. NO FLOODING PROBLEM FOR CITY
RESIDENTS SO FAR. EVEN THE BALLPARK IS NOT FLOODED LIKE IT WAS
YESTERDAY MORNING. THE M.M.E.U. GENERATING PLANT WHITE SANDBAGS STILL ARE NEATLY STACKED AND SO FAR NOT NEEDED. THANKS TO THE 200 VOLUNTEERS THAT FILLED THEM YESTERDAY. IF THEY WON'T BE NEEDED, STILL BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY. BUT, THE SITUATION COULD GET WORSE. THE RIVER
IS STILL RISING AND WILL CONTINUE TO RISE TODAY AND TOMORROW AND
TUESDAY SHOULD CREST. THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PREDICTION
NOW IS THAT IT WILL CREST TUESDAY AROUND 34 FEET. I DON'T KNOW IF
IT EVER CRESTED THAT HIGH. I IWLL KEEP YOU POSTED.

THE PRESTON BOYS WON YESTERDAY. THE TEAM THEY WILL PLAY NEXT
THURSDAY, YES THURSDAY AFTERNOON, IS MARTINSDALE-ST. MARY'S, THE
#1 TEAM IN THE STATE IN 1-A. THEY WON YESTERDAY, 16 TO 0 AND NOW HAVE A PERFECT RECORD OF 41 AND 0. SO, PRESTON HAS THEIR WORK CUT OUT FOR THEM
THURSDAY. WE WILL BROADCAST IT.

THE JACKSON COUNTY FAIR STARTS WEDNESDAY. WEATHER SHOULD BE
GOOD, BUT HOT FOR IT. WEDNESDAY, LOOKS LIKE A DAY IN THE 90'S FOR
THE PARADE.

IF ANYTHING INTERESTING SHOULD HAPPEN WITH THE MAQUOKETA RIVER
TODAY, I'LL COME HERE TO TELL YOU ABOUT IT.

I HAVE A FEW TEARS THIS MORNING.....THOSE CUBS HAVE DEFEATED THE
CARDINALS TWO GAMES IN A ROW. GAME 3 TONIGHT ON ESPN.
THE CARDS WILL WIN TONIGHT.

HAVE A NICE SUNDAY. REMEMBER, ANYTIME YOU WANT TO SAY SOMETHING
TO MAQUOKETA READERS......JUST GO TO OUR GUEST BOOK.
