SINCE NOON YESTERDAY, WE HAVE HAD 1.7 INCHES OF RAIN.
DUBUQUE GOT OVER 8 AND SOME PLACES FURTHER NORTH, 11 INCHES.

NO RAIN FOR THE SHOW LAST NIGHT AT THE FAIR IN MONTICELLO AND THEY
HAD THEIR BIGGEST NIGHT IN THEIR HISTORY. TONIGHT, ALAN JACKSON ON
THEIR NEW 100 BY 75 FOOT COVERED STAGE.

CHET KNAKE, TEACHER AND COACH HERE IN MAQUOKETA, GOT THE JOB
AS HEAD FOOTBALL COACH AT BELLEVUE. HE WAS MAQUOKETA'S SOPHOMORE
BOY'S BASKETBALL COACH.

MAQUOKETA HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL PLAYERS HAVE RECEIVED ALL-CONFERENCE
HONORS. MAQUOKETA PLACED 4 PLAYERS ON THE ALL CONFERENCE FIRST TEAM, EAST DIVISION. THEY ARE SENIORS KELSY BOLLMAN, HAILEY BICKFORD,
AND BROOKLYN KORANDA, AND JUNIOR BRITNEY BICKFORD.
MAQUOKETA COACH SARA NELSON WAS VOTED COACH OF THE YEAR.

TWENTY-THREE "CLUB HOPE" STUDENTS FROM MAQUOKETA HIGH SCHOOL AND CHAPERONES LEAVE THIS SUNDAY MORNING FROM MAQUOKETA HIGH SCHOOL
FOR THEIR LONG AWAITED TRIP TO KENYA, AFRICA. FOR TWO YEARS,
THEY HAVE BEEN RAISING MONEY TO MAKE THE TRIP. IT COST $3,200 FOR EACH STUDENT. THEY WILL BE HELPING TO BUILD A GIRL'S BOARDING SCHOOL
IN AFRICA. WHAT A GREAT EXPERIENCE FOR THEM. THEIR ADVISOR IS MINDY ORRIS AND SHE SAID THEY WILL BE MAKING A DOCUMENTARY OF THEIR TRIP.
