AFTER THE HEARING, AEA BOARD MEMBERS VOTED UNANIMOUSLY TO ALLOW
THE ELECTION. THERE WERE 30 PEOPLE WHO SPOKE LAST NIGHT. ABOUT
10 VOICED OPPOSITION TO THE ELECTION. MANY SAID THEY PREFERED
THE WHOLE GRADE SHARING AGREEMENT IN THE WORKS BETWEEN EAST
CENTRAL AND NORTHEAST SCHOOL DISTRICT IN NEARBY GOOSE LAKE.
JIM HOUSE, EAST CENTRAL SUPERINTENDENT, SAID HIS BOARD WILL BE PRESENTED WITH INFORMATION MONDAY NIGHT ON WHETHER TO APPEAL THE AEA DECISIION. THE DISTRICT HAS 10 DAYS TO APPEAL THE DECISION TO DISTRICT COURT.

THE MOTHER OF A 4-YEAR-OLD ANDREW CHILD WHO DIED SATURDAY NIGHT HAS BEEN CHARGED WITH MURDER AND THE FATHER CHARGED WITH CHILD ENDANGERMENT, RESULTING IN THE DEATH OF A CHILD. THE PAIR ARE ACCUSED IN THE DEATH OF THEIR ADOPTIVE SON, 4 YEAR-OLD COLLIN PARKER WILLIAM HOLDGRAFER ON JUNE 12TH IN ANDREW. ANDREW HOLDGRAFER IS BEING HELD IN JAIL HERE IN MAQUKETA AND DANIELLE HOLDGRAFER WILL BE HELD AT THE JONES COUNTY JAIL WHERE WOMEN ARE HOUSED. THE CAUSE OF THE DEATH HAS NOT BEEN DETERMINED. AUTOPSY RESULTS HAVE NOT BEEN RELEASED FROM THE STATE MEDICAL EXAMINER'S OFFICE. IT ALL STARTED LAST SATURDAY WHEN ANDREW HOLGRAFER CALLED POLICE ON HIS WAY TO THE HOSPITAL IN MAQUOKETA AT 5 P.M. HE TOLD DISPATCHERS THE CHILD WAS NOT BREATHING WELL AFTER A POSIBLE DROWNING IN THE BATHTUB.
IN SPORTS...THE MAQUOKETA BOYS BASEBALL TEAM DEFEATED MANCHESTER WEST DELAWARE LAST NIGHT 15 TO 5 IN THE FIRST GAME AND THEN LOST
THE SECOND GAME, 17 TO 8.
AND, THE MAQUOKETA GIRL'S SOFTBALL TEAM LOST TO INDEPENDENCE
LAST NIGHT, 2 TO 1. MAQUOKETA IS NOW 8 AND 3 IN THE WAMAC AND
15 AND 4 OVERALL.
