NICE DAY TODAY....SUNNY AND AROUND 60.      ONE MORE 60 DAY LEFT, THEN
THE TEMP FOR REST OF THE WEEK GO DOWN.     AND,  LOTS OF RAIN POSSIBLE
THURSDAY.

GOOD NEWS FOR THE UNIVERSITY OF IOWA CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL.
MORE THAN 12 MILLION VOTES WERE CAST IN JUST 6 WEEKS TO DETERMINE
THREE CHILDREN'S MIRACLE NETWORK HOSPITALS THAT WOULD WIN THE
ULTIMATE GAMEROOM  MAKEOVER FROM XBOX 360.    THE IOWA CITY HOSPITAL
CAME IN SECOND AND WINS ONE OF THE THREE $10,000 PRIZES.      DEE EBERHART AND OTHERS IN AREA WERE WORKING HARD TO GET OUT THE VOTE AND WOULD
LIKE TO THANK EVERYONE THAT VOTED, SOME VOTING EVERY DAY.

A DOG WHICH WAS DESCRIBED AS A PIT BULL, OWNED BY A MAQUOKETA COUPLE, BIT A WOMAN WHO WAS WALKING TO WORK AT WADY'S AT 5:40 YESTERDAY
MORNING.     MAQUOKETA POLICE CHARGED BARRETT SNODGRASS, AGE 25, OF MAQUOKETA, THE OWNER OF THE DOG, WITH KEEPING A DANGEROUS ANIMAL AND FAILURE TO HAVE AN ANNUAL LICENSE ON A DOG.       THE POLICE SAY
KAREN SOMMERS WAS WALKING TO WADY'S AT 309 N. CLARK STREET EARLY
YESTERDAY MORNING AND SNODGRASS LET OUT THE DOG WHICH LOOKS LIKE  A
PIT BULL TERRIER AND THE DOG RAN STRAIGHT FOR SOMMERS WHO WAS WALKING IN THE STREET.   IT BIT HER ON THE THIGH, THROUGH TWO JACKETS AND JEANS.
THE POLICE OFFICER SAID SNODGRASS RAN AFTER THE DOG TO GET IT OFF THE VICTIM.    THE DOG WAS NOT REGISTEREDD WITH THE CITY AND THE OWENRS
ARE NOT SURE IF IT HAD BEEN VACCINATED FOR RABIES.

A MAQUOKETA MAN DROVE THROUGH A FENCE ON 175TH STREET.    JACKSON
COUNTY LONGTIME DEPUTY ED CLARK SAID DALE EGGERS REPORTED SOMEONE
WENT THROUGH HIS FENCE ON 175TH STREET AND THAT CATTLE THEN GOT OUT.
THE LICENSE PLATE FROM JAMES WALKER'S CAR WAS FOUND NEAR THE FENCE.  WALKER LIVES IN RURAL MAQUOKETA AND WAS CHARGED WITH FAILURE TO
MAINTAIN CONTROL.

THE MAQUOKETA FRESHMAN FOOTBALL TEAM DEFEATED MARION LAST NIGHT
HERE IN MAQUOKETA.
